The Diddy Kong Racing example WAS told to us. Every time you beat a boss in Diddy Kong Racing, there is a scene where Taj says "I've got something special for you." And gives you some special advice; such as while R Drifting, pushing B will allow you to sharp turn, or releasing the gas before hitting a Zipper will give you a super boost.

Problem is, these tips are told via subtitles, and you can turn subtitles OFF.

Nintendo was really keen on showing kids the reality of how unfair life can be at an early age, huh?

For context on how the Pokémon CPUs are cheaters, Dragonair evolves into Dragonite at level 55, Vigoroth evolves into Slaking at level 36, and Glameow evolves into Purugly at level 38, yet we see them at levels 49, 28, and 16, respectively, meaning these CPU trainers somehow evolved them much sooner than they should have.

Lance cheats even more, he has an Aerodactyl with Rock Slide which it can’t learn in Gen 2.
Also in Gen 1 his Dragonite has Barrier so he’s basically such a big cheater

In Diddy Kong Racing after beating the second boss of the game, Taj the genie tells you: "take off the accelerator button before hitting a zipper" so the game actually tells you about this strategy

4:40 For this minigame, the Chomp's Bubble only pops when it is at full extend. Which means it cannot wake up anytime, just a few frame every cycle. Knowing that, it became absurdly easier to win again the Master CPU.

Lance: I don’t approve of trainers that cheat and use underhanded tactics
Lance in Gen 1: Use Thunder Wave and Wrap to create a never ending loop
Lance in Gen 2: Uses three underleveled Dragonites

Right…

Koopa the quick: I'm gonna use a slope you can't walk up on
Mario: you're gonna do that while I'll use a cannon
Koopa the quick: hey that's cheating
Mario: you used a slope I can't walk on so I'm gonna use a cannon

Of course Ten has infinite HP during the second round with him. He's a tutorial.

Speaking of cheating in Pokémon, in Pokémon Stadium 2, if you battle the trainers in levels of the Gym Castle, while they will select three Pokémon they're going to use in battle, very commonly, the first Pokémon will change to one where they'll have a better advantage over you. And I tested it. Thanks to the N64 Online Servers, where they allow you to use save states to continue where you last left off, if you use a save state after your opponent pick the Pokémon they're going to use, and then pick the Pokémon you want to pick, the first Pokémon that's sent out will change.

The CPUs in Mario Kart are especially brutal.

No mention of the fact that all of the bosses in Diddy Kong Racing get a headstart on you, with two of them having infinite items that they spam relentlessly on rematches? One of them, Smokey, even has unique, unobtainable fireball projectiles similar to Bowser's.

The CPUs in F-Zero Master difficulty are no joke, they are always on your tail, no matter how far you think you are they are always rubber banded to you. If you make a tiny mistake they will zoom right past you and it becomes hard to catch up and you might rank out.

Nintendo's earlier Pokemon games had the mindset of, "If you want victory, then you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands"

You can literally get Mario Karted at 50cc on any track in Mario Kart Wii with the amount of bs and items flying about (thundercloud and POW block PTSD), and in Mario Kart 7 there just seems to be an endless amount of blue shells thrown.

I’ve seen footage of Mario Party Superstars where CPUs roll very specific numbers using Custom Dice and find hidden blocks on the spaces they stop on…
