Wait there are three vaults that can be opened, right (the first one at the starting point does not open, and 3 after that one)? I counted 3, but 2 were shown from the inside in the video, so I am not sure

I’m so glad they added the underground it completely elevates this set into something special. Just having the bank would be boring and predictable.

They FINALLY gave Bellatrix skirt printing, and even at the back of the dress! She isn’t really Bellatrix because it’s the “Insufferable Know-It-All” disguised as Bellatrix, but I’m glad they added that extra detail for a minifigure in a set this size.

I absolutely love the set. I for one am very happy that they included the underground, it doesn’t really feel complete to me without it. I also love the little goblin portrait as a throwback to the original goblins. The only thing that's slightly disappointing to me is how the unnamed goblin head pieces use faces for 2 different characters, one on each side, rather than alternate expressions. The orange haired goblin looks like he has the face of that (yet to be announced) gwp goblin on the back for example. But oh well, I suppose that was a compromise to be able to include this many separate goblins.

It's an absolutely gorgeous set and I can't wait to pick it up... looking forward to your video showing it combined with diagon alley!

Thanks for your review! Quick question. Since I love spacing out my build over a few days and I like to be prepared, how many bags are there in this set? 😊

Watching now; just added/saved to my Harry Potter YouTube playlists! I think this set is stunning; on the fence about whether or not I’ll be getting this right when it is released. — Howie :)

I like the underground section but I’d love a knockturn alley extension and a section for the leaky cauldron and another shop like madam malkines

Agreed on the Vault inclusion. Can you try putting the Hogwarts Icons set on top of the vault just to see how it looks?
The “Gringotts” bank sticker looks horrible needed to be printed or possibly try trimming the stickers.

The more I see this set, the more I’m tempted to wait on it and just buy HP sets this Friday to get the GWP. I might buy it later down the line and just create my own underground section in my city. I love what they set out to do but between how difficult displaying it alongside the alley is and the mediocre underground section it’s hard to justify rn

I'm coming around to the vault section now and will hopefully display it under the shelf where Diagon Alley and Gringotts will go. I'd really like more shops in this range.

This is a wonderful set, but it has its flaws. I agree the dungeon didn't have to be there and could have been a set on its own. The dragon is a nice touch, but could then have been included with the dungeon set. But I do love the broken window on the ceiling.
The chandelier is awful. They have done better ones, even in the Knight Bus.
I love the play features, though.

I won't get this on release, but later this year for certain. I do plan to buy the Hogwarts set to get the promo.

On a sidenote, how do you feel about the display cases and lunchbox sets?

I love this set but it's way too expensive for me 😢 if they got rid of the vaults it would make it affordable for more people!!!

You missed Harry Potter's vault btw. Also, if you can afford to spend about $800 on your the 18+ Diagon Alley sets, you can afford two different table levels to include them all together. As much as I would like to see Nocturne Alley, that doesn't connect to Gringotts and would be better as it's own set, which Lego will probably do.

I’m SO with you in the vault portion being unnecessary!! I was so excited about Gringotts to complete my Diagon Alley, and was crossing my fingers for some Knockturn Alley builds. I’m not going to buy this- it’s WAY overpriced for what I actually want. Plus, the interior of Gringotts should’ve been really impressive, but it’s really empty and looks weird with the white bricks showing through on the front… Ugh and the stickered sign 😮 They couldn’t print that?? Yes- the chandelier is so tiny/boring.

I disagree with you. I do love the underground and in my opinion it give a great stature to the set. I mean, Gringotts is not just about a building it's a whole underground world and to me, they did a great choice to make it appear that way. Nonetheless I agree with you about the size of the menagerie and so on. And as for knocturn alley I think that we can hope for a proper extension in the future and see a whole set about it. I hope so though.

Speak for yourself. If I'm going to spend a few hundred dollars on Gringotts (which I am seriously considering for my first huge single purchase), I want it to have the actual vaults, which kinda take up most of the screen time and add amazing functionality. I will never understand why people spend hundreds of dollars on Lego sets that have little to NO functionality and just sit on a shelf collecting dust because you can't do anything with them. As much as people like to pretend that Lego sets can be just display models, they are inherently toys made to be interacted with. The more functionality they have by default, the better then.
