E2 - The Secret A Treasure Hunt by Byron Preiss - Finding the City with my 'Preiss Code'

Welcome to the third episode for The Secret - A Treasure Hunt by Byron Preiss. The Secret is a book that when put together correctly, reveals a treasure map (if you will) that can lead you to a real, genuine treasure.

You may be a veteran treasure hunter that has known about the book since it first came out in the early 1980's or, like me, you may be new to the hunt since it was covered by Josh Gates in an Expedition Unknown episode in January 2018. Either way, I will show you how I have come to decipher the clues that may lead you to a real life treasure!

In this episode, I go over the second step in my "Preiss Code" which is shows you how to locate an aerial representation of a major waterway near a major city for each of the paintings in The Secret. In future episodes, I will be going over the remaining steps in what I call my "Preiss Code" which is a systematic set of instructions that should get you right to a casque.

Please understand that I am new to treasure hunting ever since I found out about this in January 2018, but I feel that I have unlocked the code to figuring these out. Until a casque is found, however, it is all subjective and open to interpretation.

Here is a link to my first video on the "Preiss Code" if you haven't already checked that out:

I agree with everything u said and they match and make sense along with your landmarks and when you have 3 things that match and make sense that means it is correct ....wonderful job hope there's alot of families out there enjoying the cities and there time together which I believe was his purpose for the hunts

Thanks... One thing to consider is that Byron Preiss appears to include some duplicate information to help find the locations. In your analysis of Image 6 (Florida - St. Augustine) - you noted the Atlantic cost is missing from the map and the "face" is looking at the casque think it is worth noting that the Conquistador also appears to be looking in the opposite direction into the cloud pattern appears to be a stylized version of the Atlantic coast of Florida (lower large spike as Cape Canaveral) and is looking at the point that would be St. Augustine.

You bring out a very thorough and coherent presentation, and quite frankly the most logical I've seen. I am from NY, Born in Brooklyn, worked on Park Ave in Manhattan. I KNOW NY as well as Byron Preiss and can add some insight.. I have not looked at the picture at all. Other then the Statue of Libertys face. I did read the poem and may have some insight. Everyone thinks Hamilton is the Indies native. That is wrong. The person is Peter Stuyvesant who was the governor of New Amsterdam (NY) when the Dutch controlled it. Prior to that he was governor of Aruba, Curacao, and other Dutch Islands in the west Indies. A hard name with three vowels... The treasure is buried in Bowling Green Park. The Giant Grey is the Bowling Green Office Building which towers over the park. Its the oldest Park in NYC. It has slender paths. Statue of George Washington points to Bowling Green Park. The Tribity Church clock is right there. Seaguls are there. Unknown to anyone born after 1985 is the Brooklyn Bridge Had steel roadway that made a whirring sound you could hear for miles.. It was paved over in 1985. Hope this helps!!!

Great video on the 12 city locations. I've been doing this since 2015 and have visited 3 of the cities. Thanks for sharing!

Hey good content, just subscribed. Now that the third casque was found in Boston, and explained well, I think it offers more insight on how these poems are to be interpreted. Like the clues don't necessarily go in order, steps can be wharfs (!), some links to locations that people think matter actually do and others are thrown in as red herrings, etc.

I hope you continue on with your videos. You're smart and good in front of the camera.

Let's get busy finding the next one. :

Can you do videos that really dive into each one and what your theories are on a more pinpoint location?

Are you going to be doing more of these videos. It looks like it has been awhile since you have posted one on the Secret. Is there any way you can contact me. We have similar ideas and I had a few questions if possible. Thank you.

Amazing job...like Gates said, “when you see it you see it” the face in FL was an “aha” moment. I have been a fan on the hunt for years and now I wanna to put effort into this...let me know if willing to converse and figure this out. Hope to hear from you soon

I knew that face in Florida’s was there for a reason but never thought to over lay maps! I would love to talk with you about some thoughts I have on it. It’s a broader perspective but id like to know what you think.

On the Montreal, now St Louis, image, the man’s mouth area is an exact match of the city limits of STL. The “helmet” on the Roanoke, now Pittsburgh image is an exact match for the Pittsburgh Steelers stadium as shown on the google maps drop down of photos. AND the man is made of STEEL. The red “skirt” is actually a strange flower that is grown in the Phipps Conservatory, as seen on their visitors info website. Now is the re-direct complete?
