The 2024 Mazda CX-70 is the next vehicle to be released in North America on Mazda’s new large platform. It will offer the same powertrains as the Mazda CX-90.

The biggest difference between the CX-70 and CX-90 is the number of passengers. The former will offer only 5.

Stayed tuned for more information as we get closer to the reveal in September.

I love your videos/updates Jonathan, but I can't help but question the source of this information about the CX-70. It makes no sense to me that they would have 2 identical vehicles with different names! I would think they would just call that a CX-90 5 passenger. Even if the rear roof line is changed, I'd think they'd just call it a CX-90 Coupe (like Cayenne Coupe) or something like that. There are a lot of people, like me, who want something bigger than a CX-5 but don't want as big as a CX-90. Mazda really needs to make something around the size of a Murano, X5, etc.

Not thrilled about this at all. I was hoping the CX-70 would be slightly larger than the CX-60. I wasn’t looking for anything in the 200” range… Was hoping for 190”.

Test drove the CX-50 and didn’t like it - I wanted to love it. Fell in love and bought a CX-5 carbon edition hoping I wouldn’t regret not waiting for the CX70. With this info I’m very happy with my decision.

This is the most disappointing information I could have ever received. 201" is just way more car than I want or need. This is devastating as an American Mazda fan who was very excited for CX-70.

Thanks for the great info! I was hoping the CX-70 was a little smaller than the 90.

The 70 seems so nice. I really did not want 3rd row seat. Good roomy back seat is great with more cargo room and a little sporty. I'll wait and see.

Hi there, once again thanks for the info. Well, I was hopping for the CX-70 to be a bit smaller then the CX-90, lokking forward for a PHEV but not that big. Did you heard anything about an hybrid CX-50 or, my wish, a CX-50 PHEV?

The width is with and without the side view mirrors. Not wheels or molding. Really disappointed that the CX-70 dimensions are the same. As the 90. Thanks Jonathan for keeping us informed. 👍

Highly doubt it and disagree.
The Same size vehicle makes absolutely no sense. They can just offer CX-90 without a 3rd roll seats. Also, the vehicles will be undistinguishable if they just re-badge it. It won't be a new model it will be a re-badged one :D

I still think CX-70 will be a CX-60 sibling, just wider.

Man, I hope you’re wrong. I’m 100% ready to buy a CX-70 PHEV but if it’s CX-90 sized I’m out. Completely uninterested in something that size - I want something more like the CX-60 (and I think considering Mazda has consistently said the CX-70 is the “wide body” version of the CX-60 there’s a good chance you’re wrong.) Guess I’ll be holding off on contacting dealerships to get a place in line until that’s cleared up.

That’s surprising! I thought we would get a slightly wider version of the CX-60

And just like that… I’m no longer interested in the CX-70… :-/ If the only thing changing is the addition or subtraction of a 3rd row, that should simply be an option on the CX-90. Not an excuse to introduce an entirely “new” vehicle to the lineup smh…

For once I hope you're wrong Jonathan... 😊

Many of us wanted a slightly smaller CX90. Something that fits in garages and parking spots. I will still test drive and make my decision when it arrives.... until then, fingers crossed

As always, I really appreciate your updates

The perfect CX-70 for me would be slightly smaller than the 90 but wider and a bit taller than the 60, with the same 275/45/21 wheels of the 90 and the same power trains. The D pillar should be the same as the 60.

this is the dumbest thing i’ve seen mazda do. i wanted the cx60 type vehicle because i didn’t need the 3rd row. cx90 is a good design but too big for some people.

Jonathan, is there any hope that Mazda will make the second row bench seat available to the top spec versions of the CX90?

If CX70 will drop third row from CX90 and will not gain much of Cargo space vs Cx90 with folded seats and keep price very close to CX90 than CX70 may not make any sense... as we can just use CX90 with folded third row.
Also availability of bottom trims will be important as all we can see at dealers now are 95% of top trims obviously giving Mazda more gross profit .

We still can not get CX 50'S I Ontario Canada. Any word on production issues being resolved . The Cx 70 and Cx90 will not fit in my garage so was hoping to get a Cx 50 but we have more than 12 month wait.
