Finally, it makes more sense with a real example. Thank you!

good one, I am just curious, why not use other flat rate. I think that is much better than IB.

is fixed not better for trading more shares and tier better for trading smaller amount?

THX.; tiered, fixed. Here he use tier. Comission dont include ECN routing fees. Expensive. He shows IB web interface. 5-10% total fee is ok.

Hey Andrew, so with the tiered plan, if I was to buy 300 shares of Ford at $14 ($4200 total) it would be 300x0.0035= $1.05 in commission? Also if I was to sell it at $15 ($300 profit $4500 total) would I have to pay the commission again at $1.05? Mainly trying to figure out what my takeaway would be $2497.90?

I've been using the IB paper trading and my paper trade commisson was $1.00 USD on like QTY of 20-50 shares. someone told me that because i'm in Canada the fees are different even though i'm a non professional on the IB pro Tiered. IDK if that is true, I thought it shouldnt matter where you are located the fees should be the same. I'm also using SMART routing, so i notice that the fees different on different route like ISLAND, ARCA...etc

Thanks for the video! I have one question. That 1260.62 USD is with Regulatory fees, ? i mean, 19159.54-1260.62 is what you receive in your bank account?

Thanks Andrew for the video. How wide is the spread in ibkr.
I am mostly trading the shares that are at least $30 in value. And my monthly trading value would be around $3000. Is Tiered pricing still better for me?

I've just read one of his books and I opened an IBKR account (with a little more than 25k) so now I'm finally ready to try his strategies.
My plan for now is to start with 3-4 trades per day, 2500 usd each, of some Nasdaq stock.
I just have a doubt:
Are tired commissions good for a beginner who plan to trade a very low volume?
Or fixed commissions are better in this case?
I would really apprecciate any feedback :)

is IB a good choice for trading penny stocks? say if I were to buy 100, 000 stocks at $0.10, would the commission be basically $100? IB looks to have real low commission for standard stocks but if I understood their term properly, the commission can be real high for penny stocks. correct?

I truly appreciated your lectures dear Bear! Personally, I trade (buy/sell) on Hood. Regarding the commission fees as of 2022, do you still pay per share, month, or year? I am a bit unclear on that! Much appreciated!

I tried options most of my trades are done in the QQQ index. I always get in and out on the ask so I’m always taking liquidity and for 1 round trip I’m paying 20-30$ any recommendations to lower my commissions ?

If i am trading far OTM spreads on QQQ priced at around 0.06-0.12 would you still recommend going with max rebate?

Also commisions are a tax write off as an expense

Dear Bear: Now in late 2021: Has IB done away with commissions?
Question: Are there commissions if the stock price is below two dollars, even though IB says commission-free?

hi, can you show me how you are able to have the IbKR Lite? I am unable to find it in my settings? I am from Canada. Could that be the reason why it's not an option for me?
