This is brilliant and a huge aspect of our own stubbornness and proving to ourselves that we can do it all. So many jobs we do because we can or because we teach ourselves the skills that we may not actually enjoy the tasks or are able to utilize our innate strengths within a job or field. This also has some influence on burnout in addition to manager and corporate culture. Doing things because we can or are able to is draining. Finding jobs where the tasks are enjoyable and where your own natural cognitive functions come alive in the day to day is a lot more meaningful for yourself, and can make a much larger impact.
