Kangaroos and tapirs have been evacuated from a zoo in the war-torn Kharkiv region in Ukraine. Feldman Ecopark recently released video of them being moved to another part of Ukraine. The zoo said they decided to evacuate the animals because of continual shelling and bombing near the enclosures and because staff members had been killed and injured while trying to feed the animals.

That’s so wonderful. I would love to come and help rescue the animals as my heart goes out to them all . Thank you for the work you do there and may God continue to keep you all safe .

They look so calm. I would expect them to run around chaotically and try to get out of the car.

I fear for the safety of the zoo staff and animals still left behind at Ukrainian zoos. The animals that cannot be easily transported (like the elephants) and their keepers who refuse to leave them to a terrible fate (Russian soldiers will surely attempt to torture/execute the staff and their animals and use the animals’ bodies for food). 😭😭😭💔💔💔

Lets evacuate the animals from the zoo, but not the innocent people who can't actually fight... Smart!
