I’ve worked on almost ever model of car in my country and never seen a window button that up makes the window go down.

They made the new cars to be down is down and up is up to prevent accidental choking. If a toddler is standing on the arm rest with an open window and steps on the switch it won’t raise or close the window to injure the child. The old switches was a front back toggle style which had caused fatalities.

For some reason I imagined manual windows in the Delorean

Lol its the angle bro. You got me. Pressure was on, you were counting, i said up.
But i agree the angle should return at the end of the panel. Of the door.

In most modern cars there isn't a window button

Its a switch and you pull it up to make it go up and push it down to make it go down

They don't have separate directions like forward and backwards anymore

In my mini coop with literally switches, down is down and up and up baby

In my SAAB with center window switches down was down and up was up, but the switches were oriented in different directions for the front and rear windows. So you could roll up all four windows at once by pulling the switches up with your fingertips and the base of your palm, or roll them all down by just mashing your hand flat down on all the switches

This car looks better than most of the modern cars today 👌🏽👏🏽

I was confused because of the weird style of those switches. I was thinking back must mean down, and forward must mean up because I didn't think they'd use that slight angle of the switch to indicate the direction

I think they switched them as a baby got strangled to death when he stepped on the window button😢

It seems decided on the perspective and/or orientation of the switch

i could tell by the question that it wasnt the normal way and that it was forward

Pressing the back part of the button represents something going back(down) while on the other hand pressing the top of the button represents soemthing going forward(up). That's why in modern cars it's like that and in all honesty it makes sense.
Even in old cars, when you were rolling the windows manually, you were rolling them backwards (towards you) to get the window down, and to get it up you would roll them the other way.
Simple :D

Modern cars changed the window buttons because of children getting caught in the window and dying when they stepped on the old toggle style switch.

You were holding on to the switches after they rolled down. I got a panick attack

The up button to make the window go down on modern cars is a safety thing. It is so kids and animals don’t hit the up button on accident, when they are hanging out the window, causing a hazard. No you know 😊

No I’m modern cars it’s still up to close them. And down to open them

Usually they are either tilted the opposite way or on a flat surface or you push the switch down and pull it up, so on the tilted ones down is down, on the flat ones it does matter and on the ones you push and pull down is down as well, they just arent in that orientation
