Protester that jumped on stage, grabbed microphone from Sen. Kamala Harris speaks to News 8

While many expected an exciting showdown between the 2020 Democratic candidates in California this weekend, no one expected the drama that unfolded Saturday.

While California Sen. Kamala Harris was speaking at a panel hosted by the liberal group MoveOn in San Francisco, a man jumped on stage disrupting the presidential candidate and snatched the microphone from her.

I work in animal welfare and I can not stand "activists" like this. It does nothing to help the animals, in fact it has the opposite effect. For the average person seeing this video all they will see is some hippy looking guy rushing the stage and probably thought he was stoned or something. How did his actions help bring attention to factory farming and their impact on the environment? It didn't. Did it help bring awareness to how factory farmed animals are being abused? No. Did it bring attention to the fact that less than a month after Trump became president his head of the FDA made it so inspection reports of farms, breeders, and anything animal related can no longer be viewed because the people who had FDA violations felt themselves...violated by the fact their information was in those reports. I'm hoping that is now been corrected. To protect animals people need facts and information. Not this b.s.

As a sincere proponent of veganism and as someone who understands the devastating effects of animal agriculture on the planet and humans and animals, I am so sorry this jerk tried to get himself in the spotlight here. Many who are vegan already know that the majority of vegans are women, but historically it's been white men who try to run everything, often into the ground. The last thing women need is a man grabbing the microphone when they are trying to speak for positive change. This guy is a narcissist who needs therapy and who cares more about his own ego than the cause. There are so many appropriate places to protest and this is not one of them. Ugh. So sorry this happened to these brave and beautiful women.
