Its far more than just tire grip, and modern suspension and chassis are serious factors. The Nurburgring channel is constantly showing what a modified suspension platform does to lap times, and its very significant.

Speed Phenom Awesome Video I think it's awesome that Chevy revealed some Track times for the Z06 and I think it's awesome that Tires make such a difference and I definitely agree that people should save their Michellin Cup 2 Rs for the Track for optimal performance

2:50sec+Shhhiiiit if I had any of those cars I wouldn't complain about the getting in and out of them or the doors. I just want the experience, at the same time I can't wait to see what build ppl are going to do to the c8 because of crazy customization like the doors, wraps, wheels etc.

I'm sure a billion people will comment their own thoughts but what's speed phenom's guess on nurburgring lap time given the breakdown and discourse on the cup 2 r compound for the z06?
I think they can break the 7 minutes for sure with the strong flat torque profile and the 670hp to boot with low gearing on the new 5.5L. Combine that with mid engine and huge downforce and that big contact patch and it seems ridiculous to not blow the c7 zr1 out of the water and get under 7 in my opinion.

Remember when the GT2RS used non-production cheater tires for their hero lap at the Ring? That's right, those tires were not available to any manufacturer at the time and weren't even being sold with the GT2RS.
