It is shameful how a paper pusher wrecked 15 years of this man’s life.

“Getting your honor back, how cool is that”
No it’s not. It’s a shame that even happened to a veteran.

America has got to do better than this for our warriors.

I get the paperwork error. Everyone makes mistakes. But the part about it taking 15 years to fix an administrative issue is TOTALLY unacceptable.

“Isn’t that amazing??? On Veterans Day???……”.

No. It is pretty disgusting how the veterans are treated. He has pictures, testimony and etc and still had to fight to get his “honor” back. Shame on the military to treat these young men like throwaways.

It’s so sad to see a man in tears for getting the things he should’ve had 15 years ago for his service. With how large the US military is, this kind of stuff probably happens a lot more than you’d think.

I hate that comment. He didn’t “get his honor back”. He always had it, and the men who served with him knew it. He was simply tossed under the bus, as the military always does. But he is now recognized for the world to see what he did. His honor is his own!

and the officer who mistakenly write a wrong report about him just like : "oh, my bad"
while he must suffer for 15 years.

It’s disgusting that he was denied all these years. God bless him and those who served with him.

As a vet who served four tours with two tours in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan for a total of 40 months, I can't imagine how hard this must have been. As somebody with severe PTSD, I can't imagine how much worse my situation would have been if I was told my paperwork showed no deployments.

This type of " mistake" on the part of the military is inexcusable, and shameful. They really need to get their paperwork act together.

I’m in the Navy right now and seeing this just rages me seeing this man go through all that pain and mistreatment. I’m happy to see his hardwork finally paid off and he’s at peace. I honestly think he deserves way more than what they gave him but I’m glad he’s happy now. Thank you for your service brother.

The sad part is when you tell Army people this story, they are never surprised. It takes YEARS to fix those errors and sometimes people just give up thinking it doesn't matter. This story hits home because it looks like we were there at the same time. The Maxim cover is the giveaway.

The mother at the end saying “you got it for all of them right?” Is so heartwarming. She’s not only knows how much it means to her son but to his comrades as well

With all the frauds walking around, I can't even imagine how this dude must have hurt for all those years. Good for you brother!

This happens more often than reported. Because he returned while the unit was still deployed, he wasn't taken care of.

3-327th Infantry Regiment... I recognize the unit. I was 2-327th at the same time. George, I'm glad it was fixed. Bastogne brother.
