I’m a software sec engineer at a smaller company and the exposure to technologies has been exciting. Your perspective makes me appreciate my current job. ❤

I understand. Sometimes when I quit a high paying job, the first thing people would ask me "damn why would you quit this high paying job? Look at all the money you making" but they don't realize that it's not all about the money. Maybe I quit because of terrible management or colleagues or toxic work culture or simply I just need a break. Once you have the experience, you can always have another great paying job. Great video and good luck g 👍🏾

I appreciate your honesty and this field (Nontechnical roles) is not for the faint of heart. The higher you go the more emotional intelligence you need.

LOVE your thought process my man ! I am a bit older than you and I say ALWAYS look out for YOURSELF FIRST! You are very intelligent and have the wanted and NEEDED skills to pay the bills. I suggest you think about starting your very OWN Cyber Security business where you call the shots and make the REALLY big bucks! We NEED more Intelligent people like you! I am proud of you! New sub.😎👍🏾

I’m Army IT and I feel I’m fairly technical competent. But our working hours are from 630am-5pm, and what we do mostly is maintain humvees and clean out storage containers. With a salary of 26K… Talk about feeling underutilized in what you’re actually good at… If I had the job you had, man I’d be so happy.

I completely understand you . I am currently transitioning into IT. I work at a job where it mentally drains me. I’m under paid under valued ect but I’m only there to pay bills and progress into my Cyber career . It’s hard honestly but i know it will get better for me .

First off, thanks for all the information you give to us!

Next, I agree 100% about the money doesn’t matter if you’re miserable at your job. I’ve always said I’d rather make $85, 000yr at a job I love versus $200, 000yr doing something I hate.

Congrats on your new role! I know you’ll be great no matter where you go!

Thanks again 😊

I completely understand. I started my first helpdesk role last year and quit after a few months because I hated the environment. Good luck on your next role.

This was a great video. I am the same way. I like to keep learning and having new experiences. Doing the same thing everyday day without much variation in workload seems boring. It’s great for people starting out who want experience or don’t care to excel career wise or their own technical skills. You made the best decision for yourself and that’s what matters!

Respect the decision. No one wants to be miserable no matter how much money their making. I started my helpdesk career this year and my end goal is cloud security.Videos like this provide great insight on what to expect and how to maneuver when you cross these type of obstacles.

Facts dude. Money doesn’t always motivate you. I learned that in my mortgage career- that’s how I ended up in IT.

How ironic ! Man I just resigned my cs engineering job last week I’m just really burned out and tired besides I got my side hustle building websites and I’m making enough. I’ll definitely go back again to get a full time job after I recouperate but not in cybersecurity but in software developing. Good luck to all !
