This is a very scary crash the crowd went immediately silent, because we thought it would be fatal but in the end I’m glad he’s ok and recovering.

That was brutal. If you’re going that big, it’s a good idea to wear a full face. Bring that late 90’s look back with full on sponsor gear. I miss those days

There's a reason the old school riders wore full face helmets.

I'm sure there's more freedom with movement and being able to see more when wearing those brain buckets, but. When you're getting this gnarly and flying so high in the air, a proper helmet and pads can be the difference between going to the hospital, or getting back up and on your bike to keep riding.

Hope he's alright and didn't hurt his shoulder too bad along with his face. Shoulder injuries suck and there's nothing you can really do to prevent that when coming down out the air like that.

a friend of mine had very similar crash - high speed dropping in and missed the landing and faceplanted into concrete. he was 17 at the time, lost many teeth, many teeth were very loose during recover and even after they never were the same, broke cheek bone, bruises all over the face. spent around 2 weeks in hospital. when he came out we gave him a nickname scare face.

I definitely wouldn't want to be that guy but the dude (jake, i think) from about 18ish years ago that sent the mega halfpipe about 40 ft in the air straight to flat still owns the title of worst crash in x games in my mind. but still OUCH!

First of all, let's not forget that two people died at Xgames. There were also several scary crashes at the mega ramp, where people pulled out and landed flat. Namely Jake Brown and James Foster. This reminds me a lot of Cranmer's crash.

I've been watching the X-Games since they started, and while I don't know that this is the hardest, it certainly gives you that:
think they would have edited that part out if they had realized that was going to happen" feeling you get in your gut after seeing it.
Helmets save lives. Another point for helmets!

Edit: I was watching the Jake Brown crash live when it happened and I remember the feeling. As a teenager, it blew my mind that he was able to walk afterwards...what a sport
