I tried the DRY YOGURT trend to see if it actually works!

✨Recipe:
Greek Yogurt
Toppings of Choice

Directions:
1. Place plenty of paper towels down in a bowl and scoop your yogurt on top. Fold paper towels over to completely wrap the yogurt.
2. Place in the fridge for 24 hours. After 12 hours, check of the paper towels are soaked through and replace the outer layers if necessary.
3. Remove the yogurt from the paper towels and place in a bowl. Top with your choice of toppings. I used bananas, strawberries, and a bit of chocolate!
4. Serve and enjoy! 😊

I’ve always seen these videos and while they are sooo satisfying, the idea of actually eating dry yoghurt freaks me out so bad! i feel like the good part about yoghurt is the balance!!!

They actually have presses to help get the liquid out. It’s a Greek yogurt maker. With paper towels it’ll probably take longer for most of the liquid to come out.

It worked better if you use cheesecloth. Twist it up super tight, put it into a strainer with something under it to catch the liquid and something heavy on top to press the liquid out. I used to use this method to make the base for yogurt pie

Traditionally, it’s known as lebneh.

Might I suggest using a reusable coffee filter, like the gold or plastic mesh one. It’s much more effective.

If you drain plain Greek yogurt then add a packet of ranch dressing mix, make the best guilt free ranch dressing you could want. Better than Mayo

You actually did it correctly as you used the paper towel method!! It’s supposed to have that texture like cream cheese when you use the paper towel method!

For all my middle Eastern and Arab folk this is just coloured labneh 🤣🤣🥲 which is strained yogurt-- commonly eaten with a sprinkling of dried mint, olive oil and bread! And perhaps olives on the side (which I do!) A popular breakfast staple in my household 😆

Hi, I wanted to say that I watch your videos closely and really enjoy them. PS: The recipe is very similar to labneh (a type of Middle Eastern spread)

In Germany we call this dry Jogurt "Quark". Here you can just buy it in stores, but how you are demonstrating it, is the way to DIY it. I recommend a plain, organic Jogurt that has a higher fat content for best results.

Paper towel can only absorb so much, cheesecloth set over a fine mesh sieve works much better.
