Schools and daycare centres in Denmark will reopen, with social distancing, next week. While Spain, where the number of new cases appears to be in decline, is allowing some non-essential workers to go back to their jobs.

0:44 That is literally the most pointless use of a drone. Two people operating something that can only hold a gallon of liquid whilst each person could be doing it by hand.

This title is misleading. It goes on to say they are looking at ending lockdown in may and 3 countries are looking at easing lockdown in a week or so.Well that still isn't now and is a minority of european countries. Still a stupid title.

...no, Germany isn't ending its measures in a weeks time. They will assess the situation on April 19, and they have a plan how to slowly open up the country again, but when they will implement the plan, is another question. We will LEARN what the measures in Germany will be in a weeks time

British exit strategies always take much longer anyway.

Honestly recently I have lost faith in the ability of our news teams to report and report well and reliably. They always seem to focus of the dramatic and the negative things occurs and then continue to ask stupid questions to ministers while twisting every word.

This is absolutely the wrong move... ! Please let the medical virologists advise the public and not the politicians !!!

I like that they included the Steinmeier quote about this not being a war. Can't be said often enough. No reason to glorify the unnecessary deaths among particularly medical staff forced to go in with insufficient protection. But Germany won't lift the lockdown, in all likelihood, they'll simply give us an update on the 20th of April. I expect most states will extend it.

How did we get to this position really because the government let it happen. They wanted to get rid of the elderly, disabled, poor.

The point made at 6:40 is very important. Lift the lid before the dust has completely settled and it allows the virus a second wind and makes contact tracking just that much more difficult.

If these lockdowns are lifted too soon you will be back at square one in a month. The economy is no reason to risk lives.

It's the UK goverment to blame too late doing anything. How can one country like Germany sort it out then UK can't.

Are you people Crazy??? You aren't winning any fight against the virus....the virus has won, Period. Somebody, someone, some country should be held accountable for this Spread. Someone has blood on their hands. This could have been contained. This is 2020, not 1800's.

It's not economics vs. lives. Saving lives and implementing testing and contact tracing once the counts are back down will minimise both the economic cost and the human cost. The Government needs to get on Roche, Thermo Fischer, Abbot and LG - all the commercial test companies - and get the testing volume fixed. Only then, and with contact tracing in place, and low new infection counts can we start to ease restrictions, slowly and a little bit at time, area by area and not have it simply runaway again.

It's irresponsible of the press to suddenly turn around and bay for removal of lock down as the next news story.
