TERA Console in 2020 - Is It Worth Playing?

TERA Console is coming up to it's 2nd anniversary at the end of this month, and I wanted to look back and see what has really changed in the last 2 years since the release of the game on the PS4 and XB1. Due to popular demand, I'll be reviewing the game based on public information and what the game currently offers, to see whether or not the game is worth playing in the year 2020.

I started playing Tera (EU) PS4 together with my gf about 2 months ago. We leveled to 65 pretty fast by doing the dungeons that were available for our level. And it has been quite fun. We just reached item level 440. And we still have to try out the new dungeons that we unlocked. For us Tera is all about the dungeons, we love doing dungeons over and over again haha... And figuring out the strategy for each boss is quite.. it's quite fulfilling when looking back on your first run! Since this is our first character, it's just our fresh experience in what we feel is a game that hits our dungeon delving spot <3 Love it when a diamond drops! We already noticed that the ilvl 440 dungeons only can be attempted once, so we will see how that makes us feel.

I also tried Tera (EU) PC for a bit, but I couldn't really get used to the keyboard controls. And the controller mapping is very different from the console. So I used the Steam Mapper to create one that is similar to the console. With that I played a Slayer until 67ish. The dungeon experience on the PC has been less fun, since they're all 3-man. I was hoping to hop into 5-man dungeons at 65. But couldn't find them yet. So I guess they must open up at 70. I'm enjoying Slayer though =). So.. I decided to level one on the PS4 now, my gut prefers Console Tera over PC Tera.

From your perspective the future experience does not look as bright as it has been so far. Let's hope that we are all still able to enjoy the game.

Why this game is DYING is because there is LIMIT everyday how much you can GRIND in one character unless you pay. So stupid

I love how nowadays everyone will boost and exploit bugs to level up super fast and skip quests and not read dialogue and then complain that there's nothing to do in endgame

Tera is a nice and attractive game. I'm old player of tera, i played since 2014 and im 12 back then. I must say that the game WAS magnificent, but then after years the developer add new content and remove the old one. i quit in 2017 and im back at 2019 my equipments look like ancient relic, nobody knows what im wearing, it's such a bad idea to remove old content such as gear, crafting material and etc.. I miss the old tera :(

Sometimes I miss the game (got into it when Lachelith/Guile gear was first released--no idea what I was doing), quit for a while, came back for Deathwrack and Paged87....left again, came back long enough for Stormcry and hung out long enough to become dis-illusioned with the grind.

TERA 2020 is doing great for PS4

I started playing TERA on PS4 like a month ago.

So many people are on. Sometimes some area are so full that I hey forced to Chanel 2 lol.

I played from the tutorial to level 65 at a steady pace and I always saw so many people around my level.

Level 15? So many players

Level 20? I still see a top of players

Level 30? Guess what? I still see a great amount of players walking around.

I see less players on the 50's walking around, but that's because most are in dungeons leveling up.

Highwatch and Velika are so full of players the lag when entering can be a bit crazy, but not that bad.

Fishing tho... So many people fishing. I told myself I won't... Until I found out it's a good way to make a little extra cash at the side when I'll be AFK for hours.

Maybe is due to the chaos of Rona, but hey. It brought back players and got many new ones.

I thing it should be sold to a company that can rework the entire game to its core. I do mean to its core especially the performance.. omg the performance.. I'd like to load in just once without it FUCKING LAGGING ITS POORLY PIXELATED BALLS OFF.

Coming from Xbox Tera, the main problems facing Xbox is that the majority of the upper echelon of players are toxic and you see low levels(20s-30s) ask questions and either get insulted or told to quit because they’re trash, also nearly impossible to find dungeon groups past the 412 dungeons unless you’re part of a bigger guild

Ghiliglade was never bugged. It was moved to an Elite-only dungeon without any word or reason and to this day has yet to be announced publicly by EnMasse announcement or patch notes leaving everyone in the dark. What makes less sense is keeping the "Velik's Opportunity" scroll in the vanguard credit merchant which just adds to the confusion. I've known about this since January from issuing a support ticket about the matter. Saru if you want proof for your discord let me know.

Tera had the helper system in the PC Client version years ago (Gameforge/EU Client), they stopped supporting it, dunno why. Back in the days you would get token for comleting lower level dungeons. You get scaled down in HP and stuff like that. It was fun imo, you could only join dungeons randomly with the dungeonfinder. So yh, if they would bring that back I would love to do lowerlvl dungeons again.

Normal Dungeons need to be scaled back to be soloable or have an option to hire npc party members.

This game is cute but the upgrading is so expensive. You grind to get the materials and then it fails. 🙃
