Researchers Have Made a Crazy New Discovery on Proxima B!

Experts have succeeded in detecting around 5,000 exoplanets in more than 3,700 different systems. Unfortunately, however, the experts have not yet been able to identify a habitable celestial body or even a cosmic image of the Earth. In order to uncover more and more planetary secrets of the cosmos, scientists sometimes let their research eyes wander into the most remote areas of our galactic environment. For example, we know that the SWEEP-S exoplanets follow their orbits at a distance of about 22,000 light-years. In light of this exciting discovery, however, we should not forget that many an alien world is practically right on our Earthly doorstep. This includes Proxima Centauri b in particular. Why the exoplanet has been in the headlines again and again since its discovery and which circumstances indicate that it could even be habitable, we reveal to you in today's video!

I didn't hear a crazy new discovery on Proxima B in this video. Particularly since we cannot see it, but are aware of it, we might make a discovery about it or related to it, but not 'on' it.

This video is click bait. There is no life known outside of Earth.

Finding another habitable planet is very complicated. Besides composition of the air, you have to look at things like seismic activity, vulnerability to asteroid impacts and volcanic activity. All of these things will negatively impact the ability of the planet to sustain life. Even when there is life, like Proxima B, you have to weigh these factors because aliens may have capabilities of adaptation that we don’t have.

If science is correct, then in about 100 years we'll have the ships capable of interstellar travel. All we need is a functional version of a warp drive capable of propelling a ship to near light speed. The only thing keeping us from developing this technology is we're still trying to develop the technology from Earth based ideas instead of finding ways to develop the technology in space.

I may be wrong, but when I listen to the explanations and the descriptions of exoplanets, the ages of the stars and the planets each star hosts makes me think that there could have been life several million Earth years ago. Then, I consider all the often devastating events that happened to our Earth before it finally settled down to become habitable. Hot, frozen, bombarded, possibly crashed by another planet, and then finally our moon. Each of these events took millions of years to eventually evolve into the Earth as we know it today. Billions of years actually, so, when I see an exoplanet shown on these types of shows, I do not expect to see anyone waving back - - ever!!! We are an anomoly, perhaps unique and there is a good chance we are alone. "All these worlds are yours ... " (2010 The Year we made Contact)
