Milkman Sound Pop Top Boost

The Milkman Pop Top is a high headroom clean boost that takes an audiophile approach to boosting volume in your signal chain. Rather than use a standard IC op-amp, Milkman took a page from the consoles of the 70s that used discrete op-amps in their preamps to meet the signal demands of tape machines. By using choice components vs off-the-shelf chips, the Pop Top can transform your basic 9VDC power to 36V internally which provides clean headroom and sparkling output up to a whopping 30dB. The applications are limitless: use it at the end of your pedalboard to act as a buffer, since the volume starts at unity, or slam your tube amp into natural overdrive. The high headroom also helps this pedal digest the most processed combination of effects whether it be from modulation, fuzz, and time-based effects without clipping and can push the signal even farther from there. In the same spirit of vintage preamps, the Pop Top lends its own subtle character and coloration to whatever source you send it, making this pedal a helpful tool for recording bass, keys, drums machine and more. Like other Milkman Sound products, the Pop Top high headroom boost is handmade in San Francisco, Ca.

So far this us the cleanest bypass tone I’ve heard, which is suuuuper helpful for me since my classic 30’s clean channel does NOT break up. Thanks, Andy! This might be the boost for me :)

Been following you since the early days of the hands-and-no-face videos. Your content is always so good. That piece of kit is really professional. Nice one mate and thanks for the demo from Sunny Devon in the UK.

It is so big and phat without the clinical tone. I wish I were young and gigging again. I think it's one of those game-changing things.

Hi Andy, in your studio what is the Hamstead surrounded with at 06:54? Is it an isobox of some kind ? Wondering how to "isolate" my guitar amps myself.

What you’re playing in introduction is so cool ! Is it a personal tune or a cover ? Thanks Andy 😊

Wonder how it fares tonally against a B.Y.O.C. 27V Boost which uses the 7660S (MAC1044) pump to get 27V differential and then some TL072 ICs for the rest. Very interesting idea for a product.

Now that's how one makes a milkman delivery. See what I did there?

Hey, did you unlist one of your orange pedal demos? I think it might have been the Fur Coat or Two Stroke Boost.
