I prefer the Benson. I just received mine recently. I saw another YT demo of it and I instantly found one on Reverb. Might be my record for an immediate purchase after my initial discovery from an online video. Took minutes, not an ounce of hesitation. Great pedal.

Exactly the comparison I’ve wanted to see. Hard to find a local shop with both pedals to do any hands on testing (especially during these crazy times).

Wish you woulda popped the boost of the dane in the comparison. I find myself really only ever using the boost of my Dane, but it needs to be set differently from when I use it just to give my clean amp a little bit more (or like when I use a chorus in a verse and i dont want it to distort/break up as much) vs stacking it for like a solo boost. Thinkin maybe the benson might be a little better as a do it all set and forget type boost? 🤔

Very different boosts. I guess it’s a question of how much you want to “enhance” the tone of your amp, as you pommel the front end? Benson seems like a good choice if you want to turn a Blackface, Brown/Tweed? Glad you started at unity gain, and worked a volume comparison. Since the Milkman is “cleaner” it held together better at the higher volumes, and got that Fuzzy midrange squish…that I LOVE!

Benson reminds me of the earthquaker bows boost. JHS is peobably a better early srage boost to avoid over saturation.

But now I have a question for you.
I have a fender hot rod deluxe and I would like to buy an overdrive and a boost, to have a nice clean sound and a nice overdrive sound.
You have tried almost all the pedals I like so I ask you if you have a particular suggestion.
Possible alternatives I thought of are Thorphy Dane (used alone), Gladio double (used alone), Ryra Klone+Gladio SC, Milkman Pop Top Boost+Gladio SC, Benson Boost+Gladio SC.
Which of these setups have you tried or which would you recommend for a clean amp?
I know, it's a complicated/strange question... but I wouldn't know how to compare these pedals together.

Wow this is a great review and I love your playing! This is a dumb question but near the end of the demo you do a B, A, E, B chord progression and it is killing me trying to figure out what key that is in! D Major? Anyway thanks and I bought a Milkman The Amp 50 because of your demo on it!

Did you compare the clean side boost of the Dane to the milkman are they similar ? I own a thorpe fix heavywater but want the milkman etc
