Webinar on 'Mobilizing Collective Action for Climate Change: Prospects and Challenges'

The Bahá’i Chair organized a webinar on the theme ‘𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀’ on 𝟯𝟭 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮.
This was the tenth in a series of webinars organized by the Chair on the social and economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on India’s vulnerable and marginalized populations. The question of climate change was considered in the context of the ecological crisis that led to the emergence of zoonotic diseases such as the SARS Cov2 virus. The webinar brought together distinguished envrionmentalists, development practitioners and social scientists to explore the implications of stimulating and sustaining collective action for the transformation of consciousness and of the systems of society that would be required to bring humanity back into balance with the natural world.

Here in the US Oil companies did a thorough job teaching about half of our voters that climate science is a scam. This is another way in which democracy is failing. If the corporations doing the harm can teach voters there is no harm, democracy fails.
Also very true that the key is a citizen uprising. The only key. I'm working on that here in the US, I have a shred of hope. I'll be sure and share plans for such with your group. Namaste.
