My truck has the tip covering the entire tail pipe, as in the tail pipe extends to the end of the tip.
It sounds terrific!

Yeah figured this out with my car, straight piped with the cat (too lazy to cut it until I do the full exhaust overhaul) it sounded OK but with the tip I put on it sounds a lot more growly for a 4 cylinder lol.. once I do the full exhaust, long tube headers and stage 2 cams I know it'll sound way better but for now I'm happy with it 😂

I used to have a 7” tip out the side on my duramax I put a dumped 12” tip on it and it got quieter in the cab lol tip is funny looking but it’s nice being able to listen to music on long drives

I’ve only seen this once before. Went looking on YouTube and Facebook for MPI and now it magically appears!! Can you guys do a test on this just to see what different diameter tips sound like? Keep the lengths the same.

I actually need a 3 inch exhaust tip for my GTI, it is tuned to 350hp and has two exhaust tips. Exhaust is all straight pipe apart from a tiny valved muffler, decat/catless

Im certain equal length headers have a greater role (as in at least 95%) in improving both sound and performance.

Can you guys at Exhaust Technologies do a custom triple pipe exhaust on a Slant 6 ?
With 3 individual headers?
For example, Cylinders 1 and 2 get their own header, 3 and 4 get a header, and 5 and 6 get a header.

With all 3 getting their own exhaust pipes.

Not exactly. with a smaller pipe it’ll pop and crackle more. But you where right about the big tips lol

2017 GMC Sierra. 6.2. It’s so quiet. lol. Would taking the resonator off and then just having the factory muffler make a difference? I like the quiet but I just cannot hear the engine ever. I just need a tiny bit more sound. Not interested in a noise maker tho.

Large resonator makes like a 4 cyl honda bad buzz sound go away and sounds good but on a v8 you want a small one to hear the high pitch goodness and a big ones sounds way too deep and bad drone
. And The lenth of larger or smaller portion of the tip is important you can tune the frequency higher or lower like a pipe organ
