I think of the modern poem:


Do no go gentle into that good night,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Dylan Thmas the poet seems to recommend we die full of rage at the fact of death. Seems to me Spinoza would say one should accept the coming of death calmly as an act of God; spending one’s last days full of rage that can change nothing is a waste of time and mere futility.
