As a Canadian, this tank is infuriating for several reasons.

Gaijin for some ungodly reason has decided to add Canadian vehicles into THREE DIFFERENT TECH TREES. Therefore it is impossible to bring a Canadian lineup into any game at any BR.

But I digress:
The 2A4M does not actually carry KE-W, it is more likely to have DM53 that the similar 2A6M CAN got in the early 2010s. But because Gaijin wanted it to be a premium vehicle at a locked BR (to be in line with the Clickbait, OES, etc) they couldn’t give it DM53. So it’s a fake jumble version.

The Armour of the 2A4M was also severely nerfed, the composite side skirts and more specifically the added turret cheeks should have similar protection levels comparable to that of the 2A7, no this is not some marketing by Gaijin, in real life the Canadian Army outsourced to a German defense contractor in charge of the 2A7 Appliqué armour and got them to modify their package to put onto the 2A4 chassis and turret.

As for the “aesthetic camo net”, that is actually SAAB Barracuda thermal protection, which not only reduces total vehicle thermal loading by upwards of 50%, but it also should reduce the vehicle’s total IR signature. While this does not make the tank “stealth” or “invisible on thermals”, it should reduce the overall thermal contrast of this tank when using IR thermal sights (like on other tanks)

With the 2A4M added as a German premium, there is now no hope for a Canadian 2A6M CAN, as Gaijin’s greed has left us Canadians to jump between three different tech trees to play 5 vehicles. God help us all.

Gaijin literally added like 50 premium in past 6 month, while added some boring copy pasta in tech tree

Gaijin did ppl dirty by advertising in dev blog as having composite armour package similar to ones found on 2a7 series tanks but they removed this detail from the dev blog and the armour package itself is nowhere near the ones found on 2a7…its basically just a 2a4 with good thermals and a good round…

Gaijin said it had similar armor to the Leopard 2A7, so i ordered it, now i have a tank that has bad armor for 70 bucks 😂😊

Flares don't work, hellfire doesn't reach it's target, somehow opponents fixing the barrel in 5 seconds, the leopard 2A7 doesn't get hit on the torrent.. that's what I've noticed so far but i do like the bew crew voices. Good video mate 👍

Use the German cross decal to cover up the Canadian markings and uninstall the camouflage net to make people think you’re a 2a7

It hurts how weak the turret protection is bth. It's not a bad tank but the paper armor makes it feel a little unworthy to buy in my opinion

I actually use a sound mod now for the game, it sounds way better than the vanilla game. And I'm not one to usually use mods

As a fellow Canadian, I love seeing our vehicles in the tech tree. I do wish they had their own separate line like the South Africans, or other minor nations that are a part of bigger trees. But I digress.

I love the 2A4M! It looks cool and is right at home in my 11.3 lineup. I do wish the protection was better and the thermal net reflected more of what we see IRL. But I can't complain too much about it. It's a bit more slugish than the rest of the leopards at it's BR, but it can pull it's weight if you know what you're doing in it. I have been able to survive shots, however it isn't something to be relied on (as players familiar with top tier gameplay should be accustom to at this point). I don't like the KEW shell as I'm not aware of our actually carrying the shell, however it is nice to have and will get the job done.

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. I don't think it's worth the $80 CAD that I paid for it, but I would also like to see more CAF armour in the future.

as a Canadian i am buying this even tho they f***ed it up... really wish it was in the British tree where Canadian vehicles f***ing belong

also just saying the constant glitched jet sound while flying props at around 6.7 to 7.7 is terrifying i never know if it's an actual jet sneaking up on me in my 109 or of it's just the bugged sound

Played 18 battles in went 38-12 with a 67% win rate. It is a crazy good tank and is probably the best 11.3 tank in the game.

For me the last update broke the game, massive freezes and stutters. Sometimes game freezes for 5 seconds and when it unfreezes i have driven out of cover and getting shot.

as an australian, it really annoys me seeing all of the commonwealth nations not in one tree.

like our abrams, the cannadian with the RAM tank and most gloriously the bob semple (which should be added) should be in the british tech tree.

Yes i know its an 'american vehicle' but its operated by the ADF, not the US army, same for canada, new zealand, etc. historically and presently it makes sense aswell, considering how close our nations are with our shared history. hopefully when they add the Canadian LAV (or its other variants like ASLAV or NZLAV) it goes to the britsh tech tree.

also the australian manufactured sabre with the 30mm's would be cool aswell.
