Most people operate on a 1080p camera, which is quite standard across the industry. For lots of videographers, 8K marks a serious step up in video quality. But with that jump in quality comes a pretty hefty jump in price, too.

While we’re all about better video, the big question you should be asking yourself is, will it make a difference to your content? To help you make your decision, we conducted a little experiment.

I think the benefits of higher resolution is found when editing. If I shoot at 4k and then and a zoom in post the res will drop down to maybe (for arguments sake) 2k. If you add a pan while zoom, then your resolution drop again maybe down to 1080p. With higher resolution cameras you have more options in post that you can do, while not losing quality.

On my laptop it was quite obvious that video 2 had a greenish tinge to it and the clarity wasn't as good as Video 1 so I'd say video 1 was the best looking .
