For some languages, like Python, if you use an IDE like Geany, you can just hit the run button to execute the code (even if it is essentially replicating the terminal command in the background).

Thank you for these information. To contribute to this, I would recommend to use ipython instead of python which provides a nice approach for debugging because you can launch the cli and the run your program inside ipython's interpreter by typing "run myprgm.py" and when your program crashes, its data are still accessible through ipython!
And with Ubuntu (sorry, I haven't found it on ArchLinux), you have git aliases (gst = git status, gaa = git add -A, gcam "text" = git commit -m "text") already loaded in your system. You can list them by typing "alias".
