Ukrainian woman confronts armed Russian soldier - BBC News

This is the moment a woman confronted an armed Russian solider in the city of Henichesk in Ukraine.

The woman approached the soldier on Thursday, who can be seen holding a large machine gun, before asking him, "Who are you... Why did you come here with weapons?"

The woman is speaking informal Russian, but the soldier sticks to formal Russian the entire conversation. It is openly very rude to speak informally to a stranger, even if they're a child. Just an interesting note, everybody else has already commented on his reluctance to argue.

You can tell by the sadness in his voice, he doesn't agree with the actions taken by his government.

You can just tell the soldier doesn't want to be there, he didn't try to escalate things and just agreed with the woman insulting him. As strange as it sounds he actually seems like a decent guy. I hope peace can be achieved quickly.

Edit:Jesus people the war is in Ukraine not the comment section!

2nd edit: I didn't make this comment to say that the soldier isn't in the wrong. I know that if he really wanted to he could have just been sent to a Russian gulag for treason and not fight in Ukraine. I'm saying that I feel his displeasure at being there, i don't speak a word of Russian but I can feel the compassion in his words. Just remember people that almost nobody wants this except Putin, and the Russian people are suffering for it as well.
