The 10 Best Pokemon Games Ranked

With the excellent Pokemon Legends Arceus marking what looks to be the start of a whole new era for the franchise, this felt like as great a time as any to stop and take stock of the state of the franchise as it stands at the present moment in time. And so, we decided to go ahead and rank the Pokemon games. To be clear, we didn't rank all of them - that would be insane, and also redundant, since so many games in the series are just slight variations of each other. 

Instead, what we did was take the best representative for each campaign and used it as a stand in for all other games that are also based on the same campaign. Put simply, this list doesn't rank Pokemon Red/Blue, Yellow, FireRed/LeafGreen, and Let's Go separately - it just takes what we think is the best one out of those, and ranks that one. (As for which one the best one is, you're going to have to find that out for yourself now, won't you?).

Pokémon black and white and black and with 2 are the best game of Pokémon for me. The story, the sound track, everything is just amazing

Honestly though heart gold and Soul silver were number one (they're my third favorite) the fact platinum and Legends got second and third made me so happy. Sinnoh is amazing.

I had the most fun with Platinum and HG, but picking up the original Red version at a Zellers as a kid with my dad will always be the best moment

There are certain things that I just don't want Gamefreak to remove..
1. Following Pokemon (Lets Go does it so well cuz you can even ride on some of them)
2. Most of Pokemon Legends game mechanics (Catching Pokemon in Wild, Alpha, Truly 3D, Camera control, Getting Pokemons out of their Balls and more..)
Though I'd love to fly/ride on my Pokemon instead of just a handful of options.

My first Pokémon game was Silver… and it was mind blowing. A new generation of Pokémon the legendary Pokémon and then going to Kanto to fight red and get all the other badges. That was just amazing… no other Pokémon has been better than silver l, gold and crystal. ❤

White and black are the first I played... and the only ones. I quit since I didn't know what to do and got a bit stuck. The games were in English and I didn't speak it at the time. Now I'm excited to get back into the franchise, but I still have no idea whitch to get since I also need to get a nintendo console.

Proud to say soul silver was my first Pokémon game, I would honestly love a switch remake of both soul silver and heart gold

I thought Black and White was better than HG/SS.
I played Silver back on the GB color and it was great.
But I thought B/W was superior to HG/SS as far as OST and scenery of Unova. Replaying HG/SS was a chore, not so much with B/W
