Gen 4 followed by Gen 2 remakes was, to me, the pinnacle of the mainline series. Have such fond memories from those games.

Pokémon is the video game franchise that I have played the longest. I love the franchise and all of the fond memories it has given me.

Everyone knows pokemon crystal(gold and silver) was the best Pokemon game ever and there will be no other pokemon game with such a step forward ever.

The only game that was good enough to compete with it was pokemon PLatin ( diamond and perl) . Which only could be considered better because of the awesome possiblitys of playing together.

Damn, since Snap and Go were here, I was hoping to see one of the Mystery Dungeon games added to the list. Explorers of Sky, preferably 😭 though it’s his list, and the MD games aren’t for everyone

HGSS are by far the best Pokemon games to date. A remake of the best GB games, all the improvements of the last four generations implemented into it and last but definitely not least Pokemon follow you!!! And they show shiny ones as their own sprites. I really hope BDSP will match the love and quality of HGSS (and retain the somewhat difficulty the older games had compared to the cake walk after Gen 5)

Gen 5 is on another level it had a part 1 and part 2. A mature tone to the actual story and don’t forget the Pokémon world tournament! It had every single gym leader elite 4 and champion from all past regions. Not to mention black town? White forest? Once u finish them u get a free shiny!

Not even a mention to Colosseum or XD? Y'all be missing. Colosseum is just such a wild take on the series, can't recommend enough.

X and Y get a lot of flack from the community but they mean a lot to me for getting me back into the series WAY harder than when I was a kid. Back then I'd watch the anime every once in a while and I'd play pokemon stadium and that was it. Now I've beaten at least one mainline game per generation, have at least one of every pokemon, caught two shinies, collect figures, collect cards, collect DVDs, collect books etc. and all because of X and Y.
