Can a true Christian lose their salvation? Can you know if you've lost your salvation? In today's Little Lesson, I use Scripture to address this topic that a lot of Christians have differing views on.

How could you lose something you never earned??? Salvation is a gift from God, not of works.Jesus paid our sin debt...and when He said, " IT IS FINISHED!" I DO BELEIVE HE MEANT IT!🙏

A true Christian (or just a Christian) cannot live in his sin, they may sin and continue in sin for a while, a season, but God will bring them back in repentance. To a Christian, to live in sin is a depressing, miserable, soul crushing experience that I would rather die than to continue in sin knowing that I am offending God. A person who is decieved in thinking they are a Christian may adopt the practises of Christian virtues, living Christian-like but when things turn difficult (which may be never since they aren't actually in spiritual warfare as they are still dead in their sins) they will give up and walk away, or fold away their Christianity for good. A Christian keeps the faith because he knows that nothing else is worth living for than to live and die for Christ.

I thought you answered that very well. I also have been saved 40 years and I know people who truly believed on Jesus as Lord and that God raised him from the dead and received him in their heart and were saved and got water baptized and were part of the church, and at some point their heart became hardened and they no longer believe in Jesus as their Lord and savior. If a believer lives after their flesh they will die. In Galatians 5 it says that they that do the works of the flesh shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Paul says he keeps his body under control lest after he preached to others he himself should end up a castaway. If a believer keeps on sowing to their flesh a hardened heart of unbelief develops where their heart no longer believes and that person falls away. Their spirit dies and they are lost. It takes time for that to happen, and God will chastise that believer to get them to repent and stop living after their flesh, but if they keep on resisting God their heart will harden and they will not be able to believe anymore and they will be lost. Reckon yourself crucified with Christ, ask the Holy Spirit to enforce the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus in the flesh of your mortal body, chose to walk in love, and do those three things daily and you will walk in the Holy Spirit and live in the Holy Spirit and be secure in Christ. You will continue in the same faith you started and remain secure. If you sow to your flesh your heart will become hardened and you will fall away no longer able to believe. Your heart will become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. The deceitfulness of sin in that the pleasure for doing the sin seems to so outweigh the penalty which comes from doing the sin that the person chooses the sin. The deceit is the pleasure for doing the sin never outweighs the penalty you suffer for doing the sin. The sin is never worth it, never. It always brings forth curse and death in the end. Your flesh likes for you to believe once saved always saved because then you can sin and sin and sin and think the worst that can happen is I lose some rewards at the bema seat of Christ, but at least I made it to heaven, and i did enjoy that sin in the meantime. If you believe that and live like that your heart will become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin and an evil heart of unbelief will set in. You know Paul taught that, you can look up what I just said, I am quoting scripture. God loves us, he chastises us for correction so we do not fall away. We need to receive correction, repent and obey him by sowing to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to overcome the flesh, just ask him, he will do it.

Great take on a contentious issue David! It seems many Christians strive over this one. They overlook the fact that it is a life of continually living with a particular sin is the problem, not a slip up, which we all commit from time to time. I agree with you that some true Christians have thrown away their salvation by denying the intervention of the Spirit in their lives. Why they have done that, well their reasons are their own. I am shocked to hear it when I come across these poor souls. But, the Lord did say that there would be a great falling away in the last days.

I struggle with my life so much because I Have comitted many of my sins in a repetitive and somehow everytime I pray I feel very guilty of praying to somebody I keep offending please help me. God bless you

I think people tend to get discouraged because they think they should be able to obey every single commandment of God. God would probably like for us to, or to be perfect. The truth is we'll never be perfect or be able to never sin or obey every single commandment.

Those Christians that are always confessing for forgiveness of sins and have never understood that God no longer holds their sins against them anymore ( Hebrews 8:12 ) are the ones who believe in conditional salvation and are trampling the Son of God underfoot, counting the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the spirit of grace" (Hebrews 10:29)

I feel like I already lost my salvation. It makes it a real struggle to get up in the morning and go on living my life.

It's an easy question to answer if you know and understand the true gospel. Salvation is the restoration of the Holy Spirit made possible by the complete forgiveness of sins Jesus accomplished on the cross. So when you receive the Holy Spirit and are born again he will never leave you for eternity because there is no sin that will ever be held against you.

Ephesians 1:13-14
"13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise, 14 who is the first installment of our inheritance, in regard to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory."

Ephesians 2:10
"10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

Matthew 7:21-23 "I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord, ’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"

Hebrews 12:5-7 "…5And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not take lightly the discipline of the Lord, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you. 6For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises every son He receives.” 7Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?…"

Those who live in sin without a conscience toward that sin were never born again. When we become born again He changes the WAY we think, our character has been changed into His nature. Old things are passed away. It is not possible for a true believer to stop believing.

The problem is that many people are pretenders in our day of apostasy!

If we do not repent from our sins we will not enter the Kingdom of God.

When you are saved you are. Saved means preserved, kept.
Salvation is a gift from God.
To be saved you must ASK Jesus to come into your heart. You can and will fail and do things that aren’t Christian like, everyone will. But you will feel remorse and convicted by the Holy Spirit that dwells with in.
You can back slide but you are still saved. If you are a child of God he will punish you just as a good parent would do to their own. A Christian that’s living in sin will be a very miserable person in so many ways. You will pay for your actions in many ways. Could be sickness, debt issues, so many ways. I just know God loves us, his children and he will do what ever it takes to shake us to our core to make us repent and ask his forgiveness.
Pray for understanding. God will revel it unto you.

It makes me think about the parable of the sower. The seed is the word of God. The first hear the word, then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. The second hears the word, receive it with joy, however believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. The third are those who hear the word, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. The fourth are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience. The fruit of the Spirit. Every true believer bears the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
