Just wanted to give them a major shout out because I have such an affinity for how gorgeous the instruments are crafted - a true art! I reached out and asked if they would ever be willing to essentially rent a lyre to me for a video like this, I was nervous I wouldn't really be able to do it justice haha, but they incredibly generously asked if I would be interested in one of their Lyres of Hermes to keep instead! So I diligently took the Lyre Academy courses and hope you enjoy how it sounds!!!!

I've wanted to do this video ever since I finished reading Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller!! It was really challenging and fun to write something in the Bronze Age / Trojan War timeline - there are a ton of historical conflicts / interpretations / etc. - so this is just my take on it!

I also would highly recommend Trojan War: The Podcast :) It's a retelling of events before and after the Iliad, encompassing the entire Trojan War and understanding what happened!

Gibi, the fact that you got a real cool looking lyre from a company in Greece, then took lessons from their online lyre academy courses to learn legitimate ancient Greek melodies to play on it and make this roleplay video feel as real as possible, well, is truly amazing 😀, it really shows how much effort you always put into these realistic roleplay videos, which makes them so good to watch, all the research, scripts, acting, sets, lighting, props, costumes and hairstyles, green-screen backgrounds, editing (thank you Vest 😊), everything, very well done, and as always, thank you, I'm glad your love for Hades and passion for ancient Greek story and mythology led to this 😌, the lyre sounded so relaxing.

5:20 for those not that familiar with _Iliad_ and greek mythology at all: Agamemnon had to sacrifice his daughter Iphigenia, otherwise the greek fleet could not have sailed to Troja.
in the version by _Euripides_ she was saved and brought to Tauris to meet her bro Orestes after the war.

As a history major who's absolutely OBSESSED with ancient greece. (well, and also Song Of Achilles is my favorite book of all time along with Circe) and tbh its so impressive that you actually got a lyre and stuck to the original version of the story in the Iliad as well as the details in the Song Of Achilles.
