I love how Ben just has to sit there while she does her little science experiments on him, what a great husband

As someone who carries an epipen and has very serious nut allergies, I want to make a couple points:
1) Even though the packaging says to do it, swinging it is *entirely unnecessary.* The amount of force you need is minimal, less than giving someone a back massage. Way less force than juicing a lime/lemon, if that helps. The needle is spring loaded, you're not doing anything more than activating the spring! Swinging it could cause you to miss, or hit yourself, or do a glancing blow, all of which makes the situation immeasurably worse.
2) ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS grab it with your fist. You have more control over it grabbing with your fist, but if you put your finger over the end, *and you put it over the wrong end, * it can cause permanent damage. The needle is spring loaded, and it will go through your finger nail. Bad stuff. (An NCIS episode had Tony do this, and it caused quite a bit of incredulity at the best of the best of the navy not knowing how an epipen works!)
3) I think Gibi touched on this but I want to make sure it's covered, an epipen doesn't cure or end the reaction, it just postpones until someone can get to the hospital and get the help they need. My parents ordered 6 total epipens when I was a kid, especially due to having concerns about peanuts on planes or me being the first in my elementary school to ever have food allergies, they wanted their bases covered. It opens up the airways and allows for us to breathe when anaphylaxis closes our airways. It provides about 15 minutes of time. ALWAYS call 911 immediately if you're administering epinephrine (either Epipen or Auvi-Q or whatever other injector)

However, I did not know about the revelation that you should alternate thighs when giving multiple doses, that's very good information to know, thanks for sharing that!

Edit:
Some things to add! My assumption about not needing to swing your fist came from the point of view of someone else administering the epipen to the person having the reaction. *However, * as Kiah explained to me, if you're self-administering, the swinging motion is definitely necessary to provide enough force (at least in their experience, and it makes sense to me).

one major thing I forgot was that epipens can go through clothes!! that's one of the major things that is the reason for the auto-injector, it's great in emergencies because you don't have to fold back sleeves or pants, it can go right through denim and jeans. *It does not* go through snowpants, though, as they are thick enough that the needle might not reach the person's leg. For instance, kids at recess at school, wearing a coat and snowpants in the snow in the winter, this becomes a problem.

one thing to add about anaphylaxis that I have heard, is that it feels like an overwhelming since of dread. Someone going through that type of reaction can be really worried and dreading something, so be careful and calm around them

I can imagine Gibi running up to Ben being like: "Ben, I need you to sit with your arm on a table for 30 minutes"

What I like is that you have captions. Not many videos do. I watch them late at night while my husband sleeps with the volume low. I can still hear it, but the captions help me make out what you're saying 🥰 Much appreciated!

You can tell Gibi is a pro. Very accurate set and props, only looking at the lense, when her man is sitting right there, and well prepared and executed script. Love your dedication to the craft, that's why we keep coming back

Gibi: “We’ll probably test around the more intensely hairy parts.”

Ben: 👁 👄 👁

(I am speaking about Ben’s arms!)

I love all the little “ok”s and other muttered comments in these doctor videos, one focused on that could be really cool

The fact that she is using a medicine box thing as an allergy Box is just creative. Good job Gibi

Thank you so much for having captions. I understand it can be very tedious to caption but please understand that you are loved and appreciated for you hard work 🥺🥰
