I did a lot of Nort sea dives in the 80' and 90'.
To 50m on air with 2x12ltr. No nitrox for deco.
Man, we where stupid.
I just do 30m dives now . Love to watch your videos. Diving came a long way.

Honestly this is the best channel on wreck diving I’ve found. Always dreamed of exploring and finding wrecks, the first recreational specialty I got was my wreck specialty. Now that I’m making my way towards getting my tech certs it’s content like yours that gets me excited and aware of the realities of modern wreck diving.

There’s always more to learn and it helps a lot that you are straight to the point, no bull$hit. If you’re ever out in Cozumel and want to hit the reefs I’d take you with the charge of picking your brain on the surface intervals. Cheers.

Love these videos! Thank you for all of us that nerd out on the procedural details, and logical reasoning behind the techniques divers use. Coast diving off North and South Carolina, US, we typically use a Carolina down system; Basically no lazy shot. I am not on dives that require HOURS of deco too : )

Very interesting. Thanks for explaining the procedures. Really love your vids the only channel where I activated the bell!
One question how much line is on your smb spool? In case you dont get the shot line you will shot it directly from the bottom?

Really like your channel and as a TEC diver I now want to dive the channel. But lets start with doing some dives on the North Sea again (from The Netherlands). Totally unrelated but I like your yellow gloves, where do you get them from? Those would be ideal when I'm teaching for visibility.

On commercial trawlers you have "Lazy Lines". It usually means a working rope that has a clip in it where it can be disconnected and connected to another line to do another job, usually as a winch rope. The rope running from the inside Trawl board to the Cod end(s) is called a Lazy line. You grapple the lazy line unclip it and clip the cod end section to the winch while the other part to the trawl board is clipped to a cleat. The cod ends are then winched aboard, emptied and the cod ends then dropped back over the side and the lazy line reclipped together and chucked back over the side. Your "Lazy Drop" is a disconnectable section of rope on the Main downline that has a separate function to the main downline. That'd be my guess at its nomenclature.

Thanks for sharing, always enjoy hearing how you do things ❤ do you use heated undergarments? I see this footage was 10°c – not brutal, but still pretty cold for long deco stops

This was a great video. I learned a lot, but one thing that I still don't understand is how the grapnel is recovered.
