I remember Duvall playing in a band Neon Christ in my hometown Atlanta. Underground punk stuff. I saw him years later at Music Midtown festival in Atlanta with Alice in Chains. I was working the show and they killed it. Great energy and talent. I guess it was a homecoming for him. Good to see him living the life he is living.

Elton John was my very first concert also at Dodger Stadium. He had the entire stadium dancing. I wish you all could have experienced that day.

Layne was one of a kind.
I saw them open for Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer in Lakeland FL.
I liked what I heard, but they got mercilessly booed. Tough bands to open for back then. Great Show.
(Slayer recorded it for the blood pack album)

I personally believe they should have kept with just Jerry, Heaven beside you was amazing and would probably make other hits like it

I love that song! My son's dad
passed in 2016 from a fentanyl overdose. He was 39 n AIC was his favorite band since he was 15.I met him when he was 17.He told me when he passed away he wanted " nutshell " played at his viewing. They wouldn't do it or so his mother said. I asked the priest to read the lyrics.I wrote them down n he read it. Wasn't even nearly the same. R.I.P JAY n R.I.P to our son Jacob. You are together forever in Heaven 💜💜💜💞💕

...we have to say with all tha' love in our hearts; that Alice in Chains paid their dues, waiting thru the loss of Layne...to've gotten back into the music scene...
They deserved that respectfully 🌼

Jerry does a great cover of Eltons "Goodbye" from "Madman Across the Water". He closes his recent shows with it solo a capella. Pure gold.

Say what you want, but Duvall really fits this band well. Black gives Way to blue and the Devil put dinosaurs here are amazing albums, and it just goes to show that Jerry Cantrell is the backbone of this band. This song made me tear up the first time I heard it. His writing has so much heart and soul.

Their music is just as good post Layne - just different. Jerry is clearly the driving force behind the band.
