I’d love to see an amateur boxing championship breakdown one day. I think that would be really interesting and helpful. Great work. Keep it up

Rigo the absolute king of traffic and blinds. Where most fighters can’t blind with the normal profile of a standard punch, Rigo would hit you with a ghost shot and nearly replicate the hand behind the blind’s profile. I assume you’ll talk about boxers using a mitt approach. No shame in it. One of the best to ever lace up in Floyd jr loved the Mitt. But true masters made the blind look like a punch. Rigo would double up sometimes behind this blind with the same hand too so you never know given he was so explosive. It’s no wonder no one would fight him and he had to go up to fight a prime Loma to get good challenges as he aged waiting

Lead hand control reminds me a lot about fencing.

Day 79397 of asking to do a naoya inoue boxing style breakdown

Something unorthodox that I often see Pacquiao do with his lunging 1-2s is waiting to retract his 1 until his 2 is already in flight. At full speed, this looks like both his hands are reaching far in front of his body, which would appear to be bad form. Yet he constantly catches people off guard with this.

I think the reason he does this is because it not only fills the roles of blocking traffic and blinding the opponent, but also because boxers are conditioned to expect the lead hand to withdraw to some extent before before a proper power shot can follow. But the way Manny does it, he basically replaces one fist with another fist instantaneously, catching people by surprise.

I imagine this prevents him from getting the rotation needed for a proper cross, but his monsterous calves seem to supply the power needed in the lunge.

Very useful for all 6"3 and above boxers, switching to theses techniques immediately opens tones of opportunity and leave you opponent clueless regarding how to engage a combo.

I would like to add to the wish list of videos, basically the same sort of video as this but the rear hand.

THis channel is awesome. While boxxing isn't 1:1 convertible to Muay Thai, this definitely gives some color to advice I've been receiving from my kru (JAB MORE!). Thank you.

I started boxing a year ago. I want to do amateur fights (too old to do anything else) and this has been the best channel for legit content. Keep it coming.

Would love to see a breakdown of good left hooks (from orthodox fighters) especially David Tua.
