No, this is not a Colorado overland adventure. This is the Arizona high country in the summertime. A beautiful area to explore over 9,000 feet when its hotter than heck. Join me as I take on the terrain in my budget built rav4 accompanied by a couple land cruiser 80 series.

I lived on the Blue for a summer. I had bear and mountain lion on my front porch. I rented an old historic home right on the river with red rock cliffs out front and the mountains to the back. Had a massive Mohave red snake in one of the cooler storage rooms made of rock. Almost died during a bad thunderstorm coming up the back way in my Jeep Wagoneer. There were rivers being formed across the road and boulder's got lucky. There is a lovely park I used to clean when I volunteered for the forest service. I had to drive a big water truck down that road....exciting. It was exactly 25 miles in from entering the Blue from the Alpine side to my home. Takes about 45 minutes once you know the roads. I love the White Mountains I lived there over 26 years. Luna New Mexico is where I lived on the JJ ranch for 3 years and it was only 3 miles to the boarder and I could drive my daughter to school. Living out is good for your soul. The most precious moment was looking out of my 150 year old original cabin built by settlers and seeing in the massive meadow covered in sparkly snow with a full moon and there was my first wolf siting....it was awesome. I am 70 now and like looking back sometimes at the memories being a single mom with a young daughter it was our adventure together.

Been here in AZ almost 20 yrs and always wanted to see the Alpine and Greer area. I've camped around Flag, Payson and Haigler Creek a bit, nothing on the far East side of the state yet. Your video has definitely recharged that interest. I need to get out of the rat race and just go.

Nice video, good history bits, thanks!

Love how capable that car is. Along with the old rav.
Shows you really dont need a crazy buid to have a good time.

Super views! Like the way you DWD. You keep the subject in view yet wrap around showing the whole landscape so we can see the entire area. Nice shots! And your historical narration is great! Lots of good info.

Pecron seems like a great option for the battery box these days.

But if you have a lot of power you need for the batteries it's gonna take a lot regardless and you just need a larger battery.

Also charging with AC wastes more power. So if you can charge DC it works better.

The RAV4 looks dope. Just found your channel. Id like to get out to explore Arizona eventually. My plan is to take the family to camp on the north rim of the Grand canyon for thanksgiving this year because my wife has been asking to go to the Grand canyon for a long time.

Another great journey with you. Thanks. It was a beautiful looking storm. I am glad I was not in it. The only time I camped in the White Mountains it stormed, too. It must be a White Mountain thing. Great sheep video.

I grew up in Eagar. Where you got your Arizona Burrito used to be an arbys when I was a kid. Immediately knew you dropped into Round Valley when you passed the old saw mill.

New subscriber here … 2nd video I am watching. I have a 2018 RAV4 Adventure series with AWD and the naturally aspirated 2.5 L 4 CYL. I haven’t really had it offloading at all yet, but I look forward to doing so. It’s paid for so no monthly payments. I’ve been adding lights and simple changes at this time. Enjoying your video content. Stay safe out there.❤🎉😊
