10 BEST ONE-BAG TRAVEL BAGS

Before diving into the specifics, let’s first discuss what makes a bag ideal for one-bag travel. The right choice depends on factors like the length of your trip and how comfortable the bag is to carry. It’s also important to consider whether the bag's dimensions meet the carry-on restrictions of the airline you're flying with.

Would like to see you look at some PGYTECH bags. I took the OneMo Lite (22L) on a trip recently and it just fits under the seat. Had easy access to all my things. Very good build quality, too. You'd like the laptop section and the top & bottom protection from drops. Because it's modular, you can configure the dividers to have more quick access up top (snacks and ear plugs for me). I kept a shoulder bag inside to deploy when heading out from the hotel.

I think "One Bag Travel" discussis MUST now specifically refer to either;
A) Carry On
Or
B) Personal Item.
We are all gonna have to choose between those real soon.

I no longer look for a laptop slot. I bring a laptop, but I have second, smaller bag as a personal item, that has my laptop and other stuff that's essential - like a messenger or large sling. The backpack has my clothes etc. - stuff that I can replace. this also means if you have to check your bag, it's not so bad if it's lost. So I think 1.1 bag is the way to go.

Travel bags have evolved in many different varieties since my Osprey Farpoint 40. I’ve been enjoying your channel since then. My vote goes to the Wandrd Transit which I’ve used recently which has been reliable in both domestic and international trips for the gear I carry. For the size that you’re describing in the video I’ve used the Osprey Proxima 30 for SE Asia international travel.

Damn do I love seeing Daybreaker 2 rightfully in lists like these. There are fewer and fewer instances where I use anything else.

Sometimes, I feel the Peak Design 30L Travel Backpack is labeled more as a photographer's bag rather than a one-bag travel solution. This might make it fly under the radar for those specifically looking for a one-bag travel option.

I used it during a two-month trip across Japan and Korea for railway photography. While my camera gear was stored in a 10L Peak Design Sling Bag, I primarily used the 30L backpack as my main travel bag. It was amazing in every aspect—comfort, build quality, ease of access, and quick access for small items or things I picked up along the way.

Yes, the bag is on the smaller side compared to other travel bags, but it's highly functional. You can easily maximize the main compartment, laptop compartment, and even use the water bottle holder for extra storage if you’re not carrying a bottle.

The single biggest reason I’m a fan of Peak Design isn’t just because it’s a camera bag or a perfect bag—it’s the stow-able shoulder straps. Trust me, after a two-month trip catching trains around Japan, the ease of getting the bag off and stowing the shoulder straps is the BEST feeling ever.

My CTB26 was packed to the brim and it fits a bit tight under the seat in AirAsia in an Airbus A320. I didn't really need the overhead compartment as it was only an hour flight. Felt great to enter and exit the aircraft like a boss with just one bag.

Love these. I ended up getting the Eagle Creek Tour Travel Pack because it's only 2.8lbs and offers basically everything I wanted from the Tortuga Backpack Pro but $200 cheaper. Would love to see you review it if you ever get the chance!

I'm about to buy the TomToc T66, but in the process I saw that they released the T67 model, which is basically very similar with some interesting changes, for $100. I'd love for you to review it soon.

bagsmart seems to have some good travel bag options at a good price point as well can you do a review on them? The “blast” and “taro” specifically?! Great review as usual btw!

Australian airlines don’t “aggressively” weigh bags. It’s pretty loose down here.

Awesome list! What do you think of the grams28 152 transit backpack? It’s very pricey, but I wonder if you’ve had any hands on with the brand and if it’s worth the price.
