Nersa grants Eskom electricity tariff increase effective from April

Nersa has approved a more than 18-percent hike for the price of electricity. The increase will kick in from April this year for direct customers while those who buy their power through their municipality can expect the increase a little later. Eskom must focus on collection, rather than trying to extort more money from citizens who really pay their bills.

There should be no bonuses for Eskom management. In fact, their salaries should be capped at minimum wage until the problems are fixed. They have caused many small business to close, job losses, inflation, and there is no end in sight. The president is equally guilty.

Eskom doesn't worry about the people loosing their food going off, they don't refund our money, we already pay so much money to eskom, but they want more, the power is more off than on, and we still need to pay, or else the line gets cut off, so unfair, please reconsider this increase, thks
