How is it that the IRS knows exactly who I am when I owe them money, but have to prove who I am to the government for everything else?

I’ll just use my passport. Not wasting my time and money on this

I don’t get how it’s okay that I have to prove in a US citizen to fly in my own country but no such thing is required to vote. This crazy world.

in 1960 I went to LA X walked up to the ticket counter and ask how much a ticket to San Francisco was. It was $22. one way. I brought a ticket and took my first commercial flight. The plane left with in the hour and they never ask for any I.D.

I always show my wallet-sized passport card when traveling by air or train or bus. They don't need to know if I am coming home or leaving home.

luckily got it done last year when I needed to update my license anyway due to expiration and went for a real ID which is easy as it can simply be on your license with the star symbol as explained so no issues.

That program used to be opt-in, and you could still get a regular license from your state. Now they're pretty much making it mandatory. You shouldn't have to have a mandatory ID to make sure your travels aren't molested.

Sounds like a crock of💩 to me. It’s apparent that airlines in America won’t be helped by this considering the rash of unruly passengers that have caused diverted flights and serious incidents in flight with crew and passengers. Save time and just use your passport and be done with it. And what’s with all of the documents they request, isn’t your passport good enough, especially those that have been issued within the last few years. Don’t States have readers that can read your chipped passport and issue you a "secure" drivers license? You can always drive to your destination and see America as it was done in the 50’s and 60’s.

Oh for God's sake, the DHS just needs to scrap this thing already. It's already been delayed for DECADES now. What's the point of mandating it now?!

I’ll believe it when I see it. They have been saying this would go into effect for at least 12 years now

The DMV should have help exactly there at least for citizens to help them get documents applications needed to facilitate to order Birth Certificates, Social security card and points for making the Real ID

In S.C. They made it too difficult for divorced people. Divorced twice some 35 years ago. Did I keep all those papers after moving 3 times in that time frame. S.C. Wants divorce papers, marriage papers for all changes of names. Ridiculous. My drivers license, my SS card, and a permanent address on a bill should be sufficient. .
