This is insanity. Why don’t people talk about this more?!?! As consumers we have the ability to actually do something about this an yet the entire world turns a blind eye. Why doesn’t Twitter and cancel culture target stuff like this?!?! I am truly speechless.

Apple has the ability to change these practices, and they could even make a big deal out of it as a marketing campaign. But they don’t and they won’t. Apple has some of the best employees in the world and yet nobody in the company has the guts to say anything.

And people wonder why gen-z is convinced that late stage capitalism has failed us. This is why!!!! All we want is for this sort of stuff to be fixed. It’s not just Apple, there is a horrible truth behind almost all mass manufacturing processes that is just being hidden from the developed world.

I understand it's the same at garment companies, but let's face it, we all contribute to it because we are buying the products. At least with these YouTube videos coming out maybe we should rethink what we buy and from where we buy it. I just think if we were to build it in the country in which it would be sold we would pay more for it. But maybe we'd have fewer people unemployed and lower taxes. Don't know all the answers though

I've never owned an iPhone but it's mainly due to cost. I tell myself the way they are treated is a reason why, but I believe if they were affordable that I might buy one. It all boils down to cost of production. Made in USA is costly. Insurance and law suits e.g products liability issues, class action stuff, workers compensation, disability, unions etc…less headaches to manufacture elsewhere and be not bothered by these.
