Spliting open a used refrigerator water filter to see how dirty or clean it is.

Cutting open a used carbon water filter with bans saw. We have well water with iron in it and I have a whole house green sand filter. I wanted to see if my carbon refrigerator filter look dirty. Best I can tell it looks clean.

I did the same exact thing to a two-year-old Refrigeration filter in a Samsung refrigerator, I got tired of changing them when I felt there was nothing wrong with the water, I found the same exact thing you found a clean filter, hard, looking like it's ready for another 5 years. It seems to me these filters would last for and years . There were no signs of anything but a clean filter. No mold, no particulates, I won't be changing the filters anytime soon unless the water changes taste. It was a good video, I watched it to see if results were consistent thank you

You have to change every 6 months because manufacturer wants to make approximately $140 a year from you. I bet if you cut open brand new filter it would look identical.

i'm on city water and i have good luck with this type of filter that's on my refrigerator and my kitchen sink, it removes 99 percent of the chlorine. i think they're great.

Today I'm gonna saw a water filter open, see what's inside. (does so), holds result toward camera and says Huh....it's just a filter.

Is it a hole in the middle through the whole filter? How can the filter actually work if it's a hole like that which the water can run through freely?
