First attempt at a TPG UK 3 cabin showdown, nicely done but felt rushed in the experience. I bet Ricky still had priority security/boarding and seat 19A on the 787 is a preferred seat for AC elites usually. So not exactly basement economy...

Cheers from Mississauga, ON & Coron Palawan Philippines! Ricky has the same reaction as my teenage kids when business class on PAL Toronto - Manila was sold out. My wife and I flew premium economy (only 2 seats left) and my kids were seated in row 66. The look on their faces was priceless. The kids are used to turning left when onboarding on an Airbus A350. Turning right - the look of utter disappointment.

Clever and humourous.
You get what you pay for. Personally, for an intl flight to Europe, I would hesitate to pay for prem econ if it's $1K more than an econ fare with preferred seating. Legroom's not a big deal for me, but privacy (smaller cabin at front) and 3 hrs sleep may be, so PE would then look more attractive. The food's bad in economy, but one can fill up beforehand at the terminal bistros. Just sayin'. cheers.

I used to fly a group of my West Coast friends to Hawaii annually, using points for their airfare and hotels - all free of charge. There was one time a friend got angry with me for not putting him in F along with my "pal" and my pals brother to HNL...did I mention I'd take everyone for free? Actually another friend (well, a "pal") also harangued me if I flew F or was upgraded to F while he was in Y (yes, air + hotel was FOC for him as well)....geez, I can still remember his yelling in my ear (we travelled often together, so I quickly learned his expectations). I've stopped making the effort...

As a big guy -- 6'4" / 295 -- there is nothing more annoying to me that seeing a relatively small person tell me that their Economy class seat has "enough leg room."
