Minecraft Automatic Harvesting Melon and Pumpkin Harvester |Pazoozoo Server|

***It is not fully automatic, the blocks where the melons and pumpkins are have to be tilled after each use. It is possible to have several of these through the use of currents/fence gates as demonstrated in the video***
This is an almost automatic melon and pumpkin harvester. It is an edited design of minecraftpg5's harvester. The melon and pumpkin blocks carry a signal down to repeaters below the dirt blocks below the fruit/vegetable blocks and extends them, breaking the blocks.
After that, through a self resetting RS-NOR latch, the glass blocks extend and push the drops into the water, which is pushed downwards onto a pressure plate. The reason the RS-NOR latch is used is because there is a bug where pistons stay in the 'ON' state where no current is being provided. The pressure plates can activate whatever you want, but in this instance sets off a chime to notify the player that crops are awaiting collection.

The way that the PazoozooServer did it was so that the current passes through the blocks and then activates the pistons etc. Using a BUD switch would only work for the first or last melon/pumpkin and therefore not be fully automatic. On top of that, if you had it for every lane the redstone would be vastly greater and less efficient, as well as replacing the water currents that move the drops to the pressure plate.

excellent job, it looks very efficient...only one problem though...you have to keep going BACK to the farm and replow the dirt blocks for the pumpkins and melon to grow, they can only grow on farmlands :/ i wish notch would remove tht or someone make a mod to fix tht
