Cilia | Structure And Function | Animation

Показать описание
"Cilia are abundant throughout the human body. They are found on the apical surface of some epithelial cells and specialize in the movement of substances. The core structure of cilia consists of nine peripheral paired microtubules surrounding two central microtubules. This assembly of microtubules with the nine plus two pattern is called an axoneme. At the base of each cilium is a basal body, which controls the assembly of the axoneme. Sliding movements between microtubules of an axoneme produce whip-like motions of the cilia."
