And both are gentle as lambs around children. My uncle had a shepard and two small children. The shepard slept in the kid's room every night, ate breakfast with them, and let them ride him like a horse. They even had a saddle for him and everything. Funniest thing you ever seen. He was great with the rest of the family too, but those kids were absolutely his humans. But for all that he could flip in an instant if he perceived a threat to the kids. Never once bit anybody, but there was one guy in particular I'd wager was checking his shorts when he got back to his car. Best dog I've ever known.

Had an central asian shepher a while back ago. Absolute unit of a dog, loyal and loving. Mf weighed about 200lbs at 1.5 years old, but had a heart of gold and titanium teeth. Miss you, buddy 😢

I spent 3 weeks all over Turkey. Kangals everywhere. Beautiful gentle giants...we fell in love with several of them, spent time with them, fed them, etc...but we travel all the time, not fair for the dog...

My brother used to have a Caucasian Shepherd and it was the nicest dog I've ever met.
It was also the largest dog I've ever seen in my life and yes they are very protective of the family.
You need a few acres for this dog to roam and protect your entire property.

I used to ride caucasian shepherds when i was a kid. My grandpa had 3 of those to protect his land. Nothing went past the gates without being mauled to death by them. They loved me and i loved them. Awesome breed

I have a Kangal/Leonberg mix and he's a beast, about 70kg of lean muscle, never seen an animal run that, my boy casually jump over picnic tables like you'd step over a ledge.

I have a dog thats 50% Caucasian 50% Kangal, its basically a new breed.... i love how hes reactive to people and animals, he does the job! And yes he was socialised very well but breed traits of the two are sooo powerful you cannot take it out of them. They are breed for protection.
