Today I present to you a recipe for turkey burger that you can prepare yourself at home even if you are a beginner, just believe in yourself. In the future, the recipes that I will present will be prepared in a maximum of 15 and 30 minutes, so if you don't have time for the kitchen, you are in the right place. The recipes are very easy to prepare and you can prepare them yourself at home. Follow the recipes step by step and you won't go wrong.

Recipe
500 g ground turkey meat (preferably 99% lean)
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped or mashed
1 egg (optional, for better binding)
1/4 cup rye flakes (can also be whole grain)
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon baking powder (optional, for better binding)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon olive oil (for frying)

To assemble the burgers:
4 wholemeal hamburger buns
1 tomato, cut into thin rings
4 leaves of fresh salad (arugula, iceberg or any of your choice)
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt, for a healthier option)
1 teaspoon of mustard

1. Preparation of burgers:
In a large bowl, mix ground turkey meat, finely chopped onion and garlic, rye flakes, oregano, egg (if using), salt, pepper, if desired, baking powder. Mix all the ingredients well until you get a homogeneous mixture.
Form the mixture into 4 flat patties. Each patty should be about 100 g, but you can adjust the size according to your preference.

2. Frying burgers:
Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Put the patties in the pan and fry them for 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and well done. Check often to make sure it doesn't overcook, as turkey meat dries out quickly.
When the patties are ready, put them on a plate and cover them to keep them warm.
