A degree in gender studies means you wasted your parents money for 4 years

Lesbian dance theory? This is a class you can take and be in debt for?

literally 75% of degrees could be cut from college courses and it would end up being a net positive for society, and I say this as a college student.

The guy probably needed a degree in common sense himself.

A high school diploma is worth more than a gender studies PhD

If you think you need a degree to be an expert, only thing you’re an expert in is getting scammed

Arguments of authority are always weak. To say you need to be an expert or somehow be affected by something to understand or have an opinion on it is nonsense.

I don’t need to be a pilot to watch a plane crash on the runway to know something went wrong with the landing.

Imagine going to school for 4 years and paying 150k to be an expert in lesbian dance theory.

I tell people like this young man that a University degree is just A piece of paper that says you have completed someone else's curriculum that qualifies you to receive THAT piece of paper. It means nothing else!

All universities should have the same sign posted in their lobbies that reads "A fool and their money are soon parted."

Enough said. 🙄

Most people with a 7-year degree will get upset when you call a bullshit because they need somebody to approve of their wasted time.

I have a friend who recently retired from being the HR Director at a company that had somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-600 employees. She told me that over the past 5 to 7 years, that when setting up an interview schedule for a vacancy, any resume from somebody who had "gender studies" or "ethnic studies" listed as a major or minor immediately went into the "Do Not Interview" pile.

She said that there were several (maybe a dozen) employees with this sort of educational background working for the company, and without fail they were entitled, constantly angry about something (or everything), felt superior to their co-workers, constantly challenged the authority of their supervisors or managers, did not work well with others, tended to throw temper tantrums if they didn't get their way, complained about a "non-nurturing" work environment, and had pretty much worn a path in the floor from their workstation/work area up to HR.

They also responded to being told that they did not have a legitimate complaint by threatening to file a harassment lawsuit against their superiors, and when faced with discipline, a common reaction was, "If you discipline me, I'm going straight to EEOC."

She had been planning to retire this coming June, but by this past August had gotten so fed up with dealing with these "perpetual victims" (her term), that she got out about 10 months early.

One of the pieces of advice she gave to the guy she trained to take over for her was "When you see a resume that says "gender" or "ethnic" studies, put it straight into the shredder."

Colleges and Universities spend a great deal of time creating a firm belief that only "experts" can know or have opinions about a topic. They create fallacious thinking.
