The Voxelab Polaris is a surprisingly capable resin 3D printer that is on sale on Amazon right now for only $111! I couldn't resist picking one of these up to test it out, and the Polaris impressed me at every turn.

Dude! I have been looking into getting a 3D printer and had so many questions. Thankfully, I remembered Andrew Sink!

I still have questions, but I dig your videos.

It's amazing how prices go down. My first resin printer was any cubic, and this little guy look like it function better and prints better.

Appreciate you and Jesse both giving this a solid look from us beginners perspectives. With this Polaris, or it's reasonably priced cousin Proxima (especially with mono) would this be a decent starter choice for those of us into model ships etc? In those 350 scale ship variations, lots of 5" batteries, gun platforms, fire directors, etc end up needing to be either scratch built, or resin replacements. How do you feel it would handle those types (or Proxima better?). Am sure lots of armor and plane nerds similar type questions. Those shots with the quarter really help with perspective, and am sure by those views, this could handle ships in 200 scale parts, or 35th armor and aircraft.
Appreciate you sharing your expertise and Jesse giving that shout-out. Will look at more videos, so far like your style. Thank you

One more question: is there a reason/benifit to printing the model sideways like that? Without any outside impetus I would print it standing.

If someone was brand new (like say idk... me) and I wanted to go from nothing to printed model, what else do I need for resin printing (other than pc, printer and resin)? I am particularly spooked by concerns about safety like fumes and the items needed for cleanup?

Proxima for only $30ish more? Good buy or should I stick with the Polaris? I’m completely new to resin printing but not 3D-printing.
