Welcome the TFZ Tequila Pro .....they have some big shoes to fill!!
I want to start by saying my relationship with TFZ goes back a few years and that allows me to have the sufficient experience to say what I am about to say.
Before doing so just a brief history on TFZ.
They have over their lifespan, been able to carve a place in the single DD market, coupled to a sound signiture that although predominantly V shaped, always does it's best to be as polished as possible.
The dynamic drivers used have gone through several generations, with each newer generation doing its best to improve on the last version.
The Tequila Pro uses the 3rd generation driver , featuring dual magnet, dual voice coils and a Diamond like coating on the diaphragm.
Previously found on some King Edition models, TFZ no3, Queen LTD, TxBear Monica, Live 3, this driver is known for being a Bassheads dream....the Bass is monstrous, mids a little recessed but of good quality , while the highs are somewhat laid back.
So using the same 3rd gen driver I was expecting something like the TFZ no3 and the truth is we see it tuned in a very dissapointing manner.
It has the monster bass that the driver is capable, but past 1k everything goes south.
I was left but with only one solution...use the magical filters that Tanchjim uses on their earphones noozles.
This was undeniably the best solution, making the Tequila a definite recommendation from me if you looking for the Ultimate basshead Earphone.
But what about the rest of the spectrum, the filter cleans and tightens up the bass, makes the mids/vocals way smoother and decent, while the highs that are present, are given a tame, clean nature.
Technically it's decent but not on the level of Tanchjim Hana 2021, Moondrop Kato, BQEYZ Autumn.
In conclusion if you are willing to put aside the 190usd asking price and are happy with adding the filter, then yes go Tequila....it's the perfect basshead dream....giving us clean, impactful bass, while keeping everything within an acceptable standard.
