SeeAudio Yume MIDNIGHT EDITION - Another choice in the Sub 200usd bracket

Enter the latest arrival from SeeAudio, the Yume MIDNIGHT EDITION.
It's a collaboration between renowned reviewer and Headphone .... Earphone .... Earbud.... anything related to portable audio Guru, Crinacle and the Chinese brand.

The objective was to take the original Yume , improve the good and do away with the not so good!
Was the objective met? YES

The Midnight follows a 2019 Harman tune , with an added bass boost of about 8 to 10dB in the lowest of the low frequencies.
The resulting sound is a warm, full, clean, textured bass that always satisfies , coupled with a much improved high frequency that is equally clean, detailed and non fatiguing.
As for the mids, we are presented with a sound of vocals and instruments that is mostly lush, engaging and non fatiguing, but on rare occasions a sense of something is missing takes over.

Overall the Yume MIDNIGHT is a mature sounding earphone, capable of satisfying adequatly most listeners.
But how does it compare to some other market hero's.
Well the Moondrop Kato engages us with it's clean , well executed reproduction, and the Midnight has to work really hard to be considered an upgrade....for me it's a sidegrade.
Enter the 7Hz Timeless, and its technical abilities are far superior to the MIDNIGHT, that alones makes it the more sensible choice.

So what about other hybrids since the above two are a single DD and single Planar.
We have the GS AUDIO GD3A , my go to rec forma 1+2 hybrid under 100usd.
Technically it's on par with the Midnight, while sound wise its equally polished most of the instances, only being edged out by the Midnight due to latters more mature sound.

Lastly the TRI Starsea known for being a highly competent technical earphone, that in my opinion has in the MIDNIGHT a side grade, especially when you consider a price difference of at least 70usd.

So there you have it, Yume MIDNIGHT a well tuned, competent upgrade of the OG Yume, but not in my modest opinion the Ultimate go to at under 200usd.

Out of the subject. I was going to okavango a filter in the terminator kz and ops. Impossible to add a filter inside when theere is a ba just seating on the noozle . I got this y4 paper filters that are around 1.5 cm. Big. I add 2 in each. Cut with a scissor the round extra paper filter. Placed same new metal grills and now they sound like .greatttt

Foe the single dd drivers. I can pay 80 to 100 bucks .but then I know this drivers cost around 25 dollars and they selling this iem for 200 dollars or more I am like. . Better for same price amrita the same dd and then 2 more drivers . I don't know. Its a price stupid mindset that I have. Lol
