Tory leadership race: Liz Truss 'absolutely delighted' to have Tom Tugendhat endorsement

Former Tory leadership contender Tom Tugendhat has endorsed frontrunner, Liz Truss.

In a boost for the foreign secretary's campaign, Mr Tugendhat wrote in The Times that her plans for tax cuts are "founded on true Conservative principles".

Mr Tugendhat was eliminated from the race earlier this month and said Liz Truss could “unite” the party.

Tom Tugendhat was the best of the lot. I am not a fan of Truss but Sunak is starting to worry and scare me so I can understand that he decided to endorse Truss. (I vote Green. I voted Lib Dem for years, but eventually, I began to see that there is too little difference between the Conservatives, the Lib Dems and Labour on the issues that matter most.)
